Back up camera - anyone have pics?

I'm keen to fit a reversing camera to my new GT3 (when I eventually get it back) and I notice some Turbos have this factory option. I'd love to get some close up pics of the camera so I can see its shape and exact placement if some can help out. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Glenn!

Would you be able to get a close up pic from below so I can see how the camera aligns with the licence plate lights?

The car is a knockout, btw.

TIA

I have a US registered 991 Turbo. The camera is in the same location as the photo in Dubai.

I didn't want to give up my slot to wait for the rear camera option. Anyone know if the camera can be retrofitted on a tts?

It really sucks that this option was not offered from the get go and was offered on cars ordered few months later.

Does anyone know if this can be retrofitted (not an aftermarket mod, but the real deal that links in with PCM as porsche intended it to)? If so, roughly what would you estimate the cost to be?

991 Turbo backup camera photo

The camera is the black object in the center on top of the license plate. Below the black mark on the number. US spec car. It was an option on the car when the dealer placed the order in October 2013.

For what it's worth, the camera resolution and picture aren't that great. We have a new turbo s cab in our studio and I'll take a photo. I was very surprised when I saw it. We specialize in Porsches and I've seen factory back up cameras for years. Would have expected Porsche to improve it by now. I'm not sure if it's the camera itself, or the screen that the feed is seen through.

I have a 991 Turbo Cabrio and the camera is nice as visibility with top up and horrible. The rear window is almost useless. Top down is a different story. The vis with the coupe is MUCH better.

Hey Trimmer,

How is your image clarity? Mine is not even close to the quality of my previous BMW's...

Agree 100% that it helps with poor visibility with the top up.
