Update on GIAC Flash???
I read somewhere that the S pistons are heavier to accommodate the 200 rpm higher redline. Rods are different too.
We build our software off of the specific base files for your specific car. If there is a difference it will be accounted for.
This is the only mention I've seen of TT and TTS engines having different internals.

Porsche powertrain boss Thomas Krickelberg has revealed to FortyOneSix that the new 560hp Turbo S has been specifically engineered with a higher rev limit than the standard car ‘for fun’.
The Turbo S has a 7200rpm redline, 200rpm higher than the standard Turbo. This is despite peak power already being produced below that, at 6500-6750rpm.
So, the reason for the higher redline? “We don't need it for the higher power,” says Krickelberg, “but we still wanted to increase the rev range.
Drivers like higher revs. “We thus gave it a higher rev limit for the fun and the sound of it.” It wasn’t just a matter of recalibration, though.
Porsche engineer’s additional fun “creates a higher load in extra heat and stresses for the piston. We’ve thus reinforced the pistons – and because we’ve added extra material, we’ve also had to fit new conrods, 2mm shorter than the regular turbo items.
“It’s a small increase in revs but it’s had major mechanical effects.”

IMHO I highly doubt Porsche modded the pistons and the rods, sounds to me like like a commercial smog...
The pistons and rods on a 997.2 Turbo / Turbo S are different compared to a 991 Turbo / Turbo S.
Pistons and rods on a 991 Turbo and 991 Turbo S are identical though.
Piston for both 991 Turbo and 991 Turbo S: #9A1 103 949 00
One set of rods for both 991 Turbo and 991 Turbo S: #9A1 103 914 70
Make sure you have a spare set of pistons and rods in your closet so order yours today...

"recalibration" - "specifically engineered" - "reinforced" With the 991 GT3 rod failure saga in mind, I believe their reputation on impeccable engines is down the toilet. Sad really.
The Techart package looks interesting and I'm also eyeing the GMG cbe
Its annoying for the guys that bought the cars and have had an engine replaced rather than do a rebuild at dealership service centres, which i assume, they are entitled to under the terms of the warranty.
I'm one of the former GT3 owners to walk away. And btw, NO ONE has had an engine replacement as of yet and NO ONE has an exact idea when this will happen, yet.
Sucks but the TTS will be a great DD alternative and I still have my 996GT3 Cup car (with 997.1 newly sealed motor from PMS). 2014 is a tarnished MY for the GT3; for those that trade every 3-5 years or so. Especially when the MY is quickly coming to an end with PAG's decision to start the 2015MY on GT3s earlier than normal. I fall in this category of buyer so it was imperative to look at my best interest rather than PAG. All my money plus fees and options (tint, clear bra, side markers, etc) were recouped towards my TTS.
Moving forward
