IPD plenum

running giac 93 program and mostly 100 octane race program. I just got my IPD plenum thats going on Tuesday. What king of REAL numbers is anyone really knows will i pick up over and above mods already done. I am waiting on intercoolers and i assume giac will have a more aggressive tune for ipd and intercoolers but maybe not an update for just adding the plenum. anyone have real world exp?

Jeff you may want to post this on the 997TT forum and see what results they have had. Looking forward to hearing your experiences w/ the plenum, are you going to dyno pre and post?

I know that aboodchy (a member in the forum) has one fitted to his TTS along with an exhaust system and techart ecu piggyback. He swears by the plenum even before he fit the techart unit.

Do you also recommend getting the Y-Pipe? I notice they try to hard sell that once you buy the Plenum. Thanks

I did a dyno test on a bone stock 997.2 Turbo S. I picked up 30 AWHP and 35 AWTQ in the mid-range. But without a tune, the ECU corrected the power down to stock levels by 5,000 RPM. These ECU's are smart! So you need a tune to take advantage of the additional airflow provided by the plenum to get top end results.

After the plenum I got the GIAC tune. GIAC has a tune + plenum file and my car was pretty quick in that trim. In a 1/3 mile roll-race on 91 octane tune, I put a car on an e85 FBO GTR (which had a 10.4 @ 134 timeslip; put 3+ cars on a 458 Italia; tied (in 2 separate races) a 700 RWHP built motor e92 M3; put 2+ cars on a McLaren; and a bunch more. All on vid

Impressive #s, more than I expected! Hope it's the same w/ the 991, though I don't see why not since the motor is nearly the same. I'm waiting for the Champion intercoolers and may have them installed along w/ the plenum.

Jeff did you get the Plenum done?

for sure XLR, after Tom gets those intercoolers in and the boys at GIAC has a specific tune file (stage 2 possibly) to account for them and the plenum we will have a day on your dyno

my impressions of the plenum? worth every penny from the seat o meter.

spools up noticeably faster. car actually breaks loose rear tires with traction on. stomping on it the car is more menacing feeling..i would NOT argue with the claims IPD makes that they are making 30-40 hp/tq more over a giac tune and exhaust at this point.

TOM---intercoolers Please
GIAC--Stage 2 Please

Drove Jeff's car the other day - wow. It feels super strong and smooth. Can't wait to get it on the dyno!

I have the same setup; Techart piggy, GMG headers/exhaust, and the plenum just arrived. Waiting to get TTS back from dealer due to a spoiler retraction malfunction.I'll post numbers whenever we get it back and tested at the strip.

Hey there fellow CO member! Looks like we have similar tastes just traded my gtr for new tts. I am going with Fabspeed exhaust, ipd. But I am gonna try to wait until Cobb or Ecutek comes out with a flexible tuning solution. I am still hopeful i will be able to get an E85 setup running on this one to really bring up the torque.
