Used 991 Turbos
i withdrew my bid. three other people did as well. wonder if the scam was to get you to drop a deposit through paypal.
The pictures are terrible. The guy touts 100% ebay feedback, but has sold nothing in this price range that i saw per history. So many x factors with ebay. Issues that could be there are accident repair outside of insurance with generic parts. If I was interested, Id have that car at a porsche specialty shop for inspection and would get a contract with the seller that allowed for escrow pending inspection.
I was like well, never needed ebay before now so that's why.
2014 Turbos may have 5 Recalls; what about 2015?
Something to weigh-in on the valuation equation is production experience. As it is said with any piece of equipment, never buy serial number one. As the 2014 Turbo represents the first generation 991 Turbo, so have there been several recalls. Although the dealership would not tell me, my research has revealed five recalls: Reprogram instrument cluster, Reprogram PDCC, Replace sound vacuum line, Reprogram DME, and Replace/repair rear axle steering adjuster
I have not seen any 2015 service records yet, but I would assume that many of the 2014 issues were likely corrected in the 2014 build season. Nonetheless we have not seen these cars on the ground for more than a year so there may still be other issues to surface.
So as you see those great deals arise on '14's make sure you address any open recalls and the service history. Early 2014 Turbos seem like privately owned (or leased) test beds. You are like a pilot for new plane except the you already bought it. Seriously, if these cars had wings designed for lift they could fly!
