GIAC Stage 2 software upgrades for 991 Turbo models are now available!

Stage 2 software upgrades for 991 Turbo models are now available through the GIAC dealer network! GIAC and Champion Motorsport have worked long hours developing engine software calibrations specifically tailored to 991 Turbo models with an upgraded Champion Motorsport/ Tubi Race exhaust system. There might be other compatible options, but they have not been tested. This is the ONLY hardware upgrade required to install stage 2 software. All of the items GIAC offers to their dealers for sale are for off road and racing use only. Just like the Stage 1 software for 991 Turbo and Turbo S applications released nearly 6 months ago, GIAC Stage 2 software for 991 Turbo applications is flashed via the OBDII port and offers a large power gain over both stock and stage 1 for both pump gas and 100 octane fuel:
93 octane
80-85 wHP
85-90 wTQ
Maximum gains
92 wHP @ 6,500 RPM
94 wTQ @ 2,900 RPM
80-85 wHP
85-90 wTQ
Maximum gains
92 wHP @ 6,500 RPM
94 wTQ @ 2,900 RPM
Just like our other offerings, drivability is smooth at idle and part load. GIAC Stage 2 tuned 991 Turbo models are able to safely sustain higher boost pressures, while keeping exhaust gas temperatures within safe ranges for the turbochargers. Software features are similar to those for Stage 1 Turbo and Turbo S applications including added boost, changes to fuel and timing, and even higher torque limits. GIAC is the first tuner to offer 991 Turbo software options as an OBDII port flash, with multiple stages and full program switching.
Software testing for this product was completed remotely using proprietary logging equipment engineered for comprehensive DME access and data acquisition. GIAC worked diligently with Champion Motorsport (CMS) to fine tune the software on their own vehicles.

Great Results ,
any chance that there are real time results? vbox ? drag slip?
if anyone tried any of the above please post!
would love to see how a tune unleashes this beast ..

We did do a few tests with the IPD plenum. The results are very similar to what we've seen on the 997.2 cars, so that's a good thing.
I'm waiting for your call.
The flash itself, and the switching, are all done via IBDII. In fact, geniuses at GIAC have streamlined the flashing process so it only takes about half the time as previous cars. You can be in and out in about 1/2 hour.
We'll hopefully be taking 2 cars to the track this Friday, or sometime next week. Stay tuned...I'll post some results as soon as we have them for sure!

As always, it's such a total pleasure working on projects like this with the guys at GIAC. Their truly isn't another tuning company out there with the engineering capability and overall tuning knowledge as these guys!!
Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have, or if you're in the South Florida area feel free to stop by for a test drive in one of our cars. Just give me a short heads up so I can make sure the cars are here!

Working on those getting those for you all. The software has always been 100% OBD2 port flashed from day 1 on the 991TT
As you can see by the 997.2 Turbo, we live by real world results. Dyno testing is great, and so are power deltas. What it does in the real world always tells the story. At the 1/2 mile airstrip event we recently attended a stage 1 991TT-S (CPI GUY on this forum) was trapping 18 mph higher in the 1/2 mile than another 991 TT-S running a tuning box (147 mph versus 165 mph). To give an idea, a stock 2012 Nissan GT-R was trapping around 147mph at the same event.
I believe Champion was testing with one at some point in the testing. IT would be best to contact them for more in depth information on that.

The one thing I can say for sure is the 991 TTS with GMG exhaust and GIAC tune is a monster. I beat everything I raced and trapped at over 165. GIAC is the real deal and I can't wait to run their new stage 2.
Adding 100 octane won't improve mph by anywhere near 18 mph. Maybe 3-4 mph at best. We will be testing on our poor 91 octane california gas for power shortly to get numbers off of the files we've already created on the street.

. did you guys test the tune with IPD ?
