Get GTS wheel look for $75...I did it today!

Just read the post on GTS wheels. I saw the GTS a couple months ago, and knew I had to change up the look of our stock Turbo wheels. I considered buying new wheels ($10,000+), powdercoating ($1,000+), but, after watching a dozen or so Youtube videos, decided to do a DIY PlastiDip project. I have no affiliation with Plasti, but I am stunned at the quality and finish of the results. I went with four coats of the Antracite, covered with two coats of their clear Glossifier. Thought about the matte black like the GTS, but thought this would look good with my GT Silver. Attached are some before and after pics. Best part is it cost $75, took just a few hours, and I can peel it off if I get tired of it!

I bought it direct from the PlastiDip website. Think you can get on Amazon too. Yea, just spray it on. Real easy. Search Youtube for their instructional videos. They are real good at explaining what to do.

Nice job! Anthracite dip looks very good with Glossifier. Some good YouTube demos. Will stay with my stock TTS wheel color for now, but will dip (spray) my summer Panamera Sport 20's with Antracite rather than get them powder coated primarily because I can remove the dip if I don't like the finish and return to the stock silver or go to black. If I like it a lot, will dip the TTS wheels as you did and may even do the stock Turbo II wheels on my Pan GTS winter wheels. Will do the Sport wheels when off the car in winter storage, which should be easier than when mounted on the car. Might do the Glossifier over the PlastiDip Antracite metallic, but want a more matte finish. Will Opticoat the stock silver Sport wheels before spraying them. Any scratches can be easily repaired, which is another benefit.

Looks great thanks for the pics! Much better contrast in my opinion.

For those looking to do this upgrade we list the Plasti dip kits on our website here.

You sprayed these on the car? How do the barrels look. I was considering doing this while I decide what aftermarket wheels I want

Yes, that's the great part! Wheels stay on. Masked off the rotors/calipers with plastic bags, and masked off the center hub with a round piece of paper i cut and some tape.

Looks great!!! Haven't watched any of the You Tube videos...just wondering how is overspray on the tires removed or is inside edge of the tire masked off as well? Thanks, PJ

No masking needed. Just rub a little Armor All on tire, purposely overspray a bit, let it all dry, and then it easily peels/lifts off.
