Mid-year change on front bumper grills?

I'm considering painting the flat black trim pieces on my 991TTS to match the exterior color (grills, intakes, fascias, etc.). I went to my local dealer to take pics of a new '15 TT that had the painted parts to give to my painter as a guide when I noticed the front bumper grills were different. Funny thing is, there was another 15 TTS that had grills like my '14. Has anyone else noticed this subtle change? The "new" design eliminates the vertical piece that currently holds the park distance sensor. Will post pics asap. PJ

Here's a shot of my '14 TTS front. Note vertical plastic piece that holds the park distance sensor and butts up against the bumper cover on the left edge.

Not the best pic, but take a close look at the left side of the grill on the '15 TTS. There's no vertical plastic piece and the park sensor is built into the 2-slat assembly. Not sure why the design change, but the result is a considerable gap between the turn signal assembly and the bumper cover which looks somewhat unfinished. Then again, that hunk of flat black plastic didn't look that great anyway which is what prompted me to consider painting to match. I know it's just a small detail... no football today and I'm bored. Upon closer review..looks like there's a difference between the 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S grills. White car pictured was a Turbo, not Turbo S. Who'd a thunk it would be different? PJ

Yes - Difference is Turbo does not have side piece and Turbo S does.

Yes, it's how you tell a TTS from non-S... from the front on '14 & '15s!

Rookie mistake... and on my very first post at that. Anybody have a pic of the painted front grill on the TTS? I have yet to see one in person and the configuration doesn't show much detail. Thanks, PJ
