So I pulled it off and bought my dream.
I went in the dealer to check out a 2012 997TT Vert. I came out with this.

The 2012 was sold and this was sitting in the showroom. We started to check it out and the next thing you know my wife says "we drove all this way, let's see what kind of a deal we can get". Rest is history as they say.
After a test drive and lots of negotiating, she's all ours. Its getting a clear bra and then they are adding the "Turbo" to the rear (not sure why they ordered it to just say "911" but they did).
What do you guys think of the extra protection? $2,400 for 5 years to cover wheels, tires, windshield and some 24 hr services.
I will get better pics when she gets home.

Regarding the protection package... I suppose it depends on your location and what you expect to do with the car (that is: what do you know that the insurance provider doesn't know). But all things being equal, if you can self-insure, you should do it (i.e. when **** happens -- if it happens at all, just pay for it). Anything else is mathematically more expensive in the average. If it weren't, then there would be no financial incentive for the insurance provider to sell the protection in the first place.
The only exception is insurance for catastrophic loss. Something that if it happened you actually couldn't easily pay for it.

I will have my normal auto insurance. This was a added on Protection Plan they were offering. Basically it covers and they replace damaged tires, damaged or even scratched wheels and windshield repair.

Congrats! Just as DaveChapin said, it really depends. If you are looking to use this car as a daily, the likelihood of a damaged tire/wheel/windshield is obviously much higher if you were to use this car as non-primary.
I would say (very roughly) that about 20-30% of our clients opt for these extended warranties/protection packages via their dealer or some other route, and the ones who do are usually the clients that put 10k miles per year and above on their vehicles.
If your exposure is limited, then self insurance may be the more logical route. Also, be sure to read the details in fine print very carefully, as with any coverage, exclusions are your enemy. I can't tell you how many horror stories I've heard from people that thought they had coverage until a loss occurred, come to find out that their loss was excluded from the policy.
For example, the windshield may only be a repair option, which is never guaranteed, and 24 services are very easily added to most insurance policies for very minimal premium increase.
Either way, beautiful pickup. Enjoy it in good health! And by the way, the Auto Gallery is just up the street from us - shoot me a DM if you're in the area!

Mine is being shipped from California to Mississippi, should have next week. TRUST me I know how you're feeling.
My wheel/ tire 4 year warranty was $825.
My windshield is 100% covered by my auto policy.
The Porsche Warranty cover roadside assistance for 4 years plus most car policies cover roadside assistance for a nominal fee.
Definitely paying way too much at $2,400.

Don't cancel because other people don't agree with you. Are they going to pay for a bent wheel or cracked windshield? No! Go back to the dealer and tell them you'll keep the coverage it they refund you a portion of it. Tell them you did research and realize they charged to much.

. Thanks.
