Glad I bought the wheel/tire warranty.

For anyone considering the extended tire/wheel warranty when you buy a 911, my story is I bought my TTS new in November 2013. My salesman offered it to me and the cost was $1195 for 5 years road hazard warranty on my wheels and tires. Fast forward to two weeks ago, and I find a nail in my passenger rear tire. New tire no charge. Today I get in to run an errand, and my TPMS tells me my rear driver side tire is 7 psi low. I take a look and there is a screw in it. My Porsche Dealer has my new P-Zero tire coming in early next week, so they patch my current tire until my new one comes in. They find two screws in it. So I have gotten $1100 in new tires in the last couple weeks, and have 42 months left on my warranty.

I almost passed on the wheel/tire warranty, as I haven't had a flat since 1999, but am very glad I took my salesman's advice. My Service Adviser told me this is common with the sticky Pirellis.

Got the insurance when i got my TTS in July. So far no punctures, but up here the roads will be a mess for a while and the sweepers will throw all kinds of debris onto the driving lanes. Insurance will also cover replacement of damaged wheels, one of which would cost a lot more than the insurance.

I had one replaced the first week I owned the car. None since but my wife has picked up two screws in her Cayenne and they were able to patch those. On my M5, I got three new PSS in 15 months. The tire insurance is worth it and mine was also about $1300 when I got my car. It was the only additional stuff I bought for the 991TTS.

Always negotiate on the tire/wheel warranty and normally get some use from it. They do not patch Porsche tires so you always get a new tire. The one negative they don't tell you about is you pay (in Fl) a disposal fee and for shop supplies so I pay approx $75 for a new tire. Well worth the $825 I paid.

I paid zero here. This may be the first performance car I have owned with Pirellis. Closest thing to a P car before this was a MB C63 AMG, and I think it had Bridgestones on it. My previous cars have been mostly Corvettes, Vipers, and Shelby vehicles, usually equipped with Goodyears, if memory serves.

My cost was zero also but on the M5 it was $50 per tire. However, on the first policy I bought back in 2010 on my 535i it was zero and I had three run flats replaced on it which paid itself back.

Even at $50-$75 a tire, still a great deal.

Hi can you please tell me where you got this warranty. The name of the dealer and salesman please. They are quoting me $2000 for my wheels and tire warranty on my Boxster S. Thank you!

Call some of the Porsche Dealers in Central/Space Coast Fl. For the best rates the car probably has to be new. Not sure how they access the cost if they cannot inspect the condition of the wheels abd tires.

I would call all the Dealers south of Stuart.
