I know essentially they are the same unit but is there any difference in shift speeds, behavior, etc?

I thought I remember people saying that there is a slight delay in shifting when going WOT near redline in the 997.2 PDK. The only PDK experience I've had was with the 991 GT3 and every shift felt crisp and lightning fast. Does the 991tt PDK feel similar to the 991 GT3?

Dr SS is correct. Shifts are most certainly faster on up and downshift. If you drive the 997.2tt and 991tt it is quite easy felt that 991pdk is a superior drive. Never hear anyone say 997.2tt PDK box is driving as good.

No I'm not joking I have a 997.2 TTS and 2 friends have 991 turbos. No comparison, sorry. My old GTR in manual mode was quicker then my current PDK. I auto mode all pdk's blow away GR6 GTR DCT.

Coincidentally, I had started a similar thread (same question about PDK comparison) on Rennlist...

http://rennlist.com/forums/991-turbo...v-991-pdk.html

Mine didn't quite pick up the steam that this one did, though.

Thanks for all of the input and information, fellows.

Emre, from ES Motor, had a post on one of the many forums I visit stating there was in fact a hardware difference on the 991 pdks (if my memory serves me correct). I have a little free time so let me see if I can find it

Own a 997.2TTS, have driven a 991TT...I must say the shifts in the 991 felt smoother. I couldn't say that the shifts were necessarily quicker but certainly smoother.

The 991 pdk responds much quicker to pulls on the paddles. Much more instantaneous and direct than the 997. In the 991, the car shifts immediately once you pull the paddle, where the 997 there is a slight lag. The shifting speed may be similar, but the response is much quicker in the 991.
