Is the limitation the PDK? Or that the internals of the engine, without a build, can't safely and reliably take more than that power level?

(sdg1871 got to take a ride with me this morning in a Stage 2+ equipped car with the intercoolers and updated tune installed. I think I only scared him just a little bit lol.)

 

Honestly the car was scary fast. It had the crappy Pirelli PZeros with upgraded intercoolers, Tubi catless and IPD plenum. As modded, the car produces around 600 wheel horsepower (700 crank horsepower) and it is just way too powerful for the tires at low speeds. The tires claw for traction from low speed under WOT in sport plus and you have to hold onto the steering wheel and make strong corrections to keep the car going straight.

Car definitely needs much stickier tires than P Zeros to handle that amount of power.

It is really really really fast. Felt like a car that with proper tires could break into the nines in the quarter mile. With those stock PZero tires it scared me more than little under WOT In sport plus. I am sure it would be gripper with Pilot Super Sports. Even more so with Pilot Sport Cup 2s, R888s or Trofeo Rs.

 

We all know this car is crazy fast at low speeds, How does it pull after 60 or 100 or 150? Im hoping its a completely different animal? Dyno runs are cool but I really want to see 1/4 mile 1/2 mile or mile times? FYI I keep looking in the mail every day for my upgrade kit

 

It felt really fast under highway acceleration but yes I cannot wait to see how it translates into 1/4 and 1/2 times too

 

Those Intercoolers look awesome. Great job on those, really nice work.

 

I am so happy these are being released to the market. The 991 TT and TTS simply cannot achieve its full power potential on stock ICs. These really do look like high quality products. I could see all of the main pieces and they are made of expensive high quality materials.

As far as I know these are the first 991 TT and TTS to hit the market from a U.S. tuner. I am aware that a Turkish tuner has upgraded ICs out but I have not seen much about them.

I understand that other U.S. Tuners are working on their own ICs. Let the battle of the mods continue.

 

My car arrived at Champion Motorsports today. Champion intercoolers and GIAC stage 2 plus tune will be installed as well as FVD headers and IPD Y pipe if it proves to be compatible with the Champion ICs and carbon fiber tubing connecting the ICs with the Y pipe and if it shows a performance gain. Car will be dynoed and datalogged. Also installing the Techart paddle shifters to my multi function wheel in black with red trim to match my interior.

Hoping the heat soak will be eliminated and that the car will be capable of a quarter mile in the nines at sea level in the cool fall air.

 

SD keep us posted with the results, I talked with IPD today and ordered mine and they just shipped 4 Y pipes today to Champion. I cant imagine why it wouldn't fit.

 

Thanks! Yes one of those Y pipes is for my car. I assume they will be compatible as well. But Champion has to test to ensure compatibility and gains.
