Shift Sector- Results are in!!
Nigel, look at what your hermano is saying above. It was never about my 997. This is a 991 forum...although there is some overlap as we share the 3.8 DI with PDK platform. But it all changed when webcar comes in here spewing garbage and betting $1,000 that you would have beat me. So I can't respond to his post?
I'll make you a deal. I won't post again here unless someone else wants clarification from me or simply posts BS against me or GIAC.

Adam you are right and I nipped that in the bud when it was posted. I gave you my honest feelings on these forums at Shift Sector. Don't take it personally buddy when you were posting videos in my Giac / Cobb comparison thread I didn't say a word. You made reference to "worthless", disingenuous, etc. I didnt go into attack mode one bit. I used it as motivation. I try not to take it seriously and make no mistake do appreciate your insight into racing. Stick around!
Thanks brother and hope to see you at more events. Next one is The Red List private drag event on December 12th at Famoso in Bakersfield. Marc and I are going. Would love you and Sam and anyone else on the 991 or 997.2 platform to join because it's really about the 991/997.2 against everyone else. I got second place at the first RedList and most of the cars were trailored dedicated drag cars. We drive in with our street tires and mop up.
Only car to beat me was a 1,200 wheel built Camaro on slicks. But this time around I learned a little and will be on 18's and drag radials.
I really need to put my gopros on my car. So here is my sons video he took of us Sunday running the F-12 I used launch control with traction control on. I could not launch with Traction control off. I tried earlier against adam on sunday's race just because I keep hearing it will slow me down it didnt work for me. Oh ya FYI for all you who thinks it was better conditions on Sunday there was at least a 15mph head wind check out the flags. Sunday was a worse day for times than Saturday!
Sunday was definitely a worse day to run than Saturday. Strong headwinds pretty much all day, whereas Saturday there were times of tailwind.
Given that, pretty clear that Longboarder's 997.2 still the car to beat with his trap of 164.5x Sunday, with a passenger no less. Great job Adam!

Look at those headwinds.
LOL. No mercy in races against $450k cars.

And on a side note about warranty, since it was mentioned before. If you don't believe anything I ever say....PLEASE believe this. If you think for a second that your car still has a warranty after you add any kind of engine tuning, you're absolutely wrong. I don't care what your dealer told you. If you blow an engine, someone from Porsche will come, and they will find out that you've modded your car, and they will deny your claim, no matter what your dealer says or does. Our Champion Motorsport warranty is an entirely separate written warranty expressly stating that WE will cover the cost of repairs. Please please please....trust me on this one. I would really hate to see any of you guys get screwed.
Tom, thanks for that. And you know you can call me anytime dude. Just FYI and a little correction. I believe the advertised numbers from SDG's car to our stage III on K's car was a 9 hp difference. 566 to the wheels versus 575 to the wheels. The turbochargers just don't allow for much more as you know. Torque is up there but like Chris said we need more flow up top to really get more mile per hour. We will keep having fun. Would love to see our big turbo cars compete in a friendly manner!
I'm here...I already congratulated White991TT a couple times...but every time I congratulated him or Cobb I got accused of being devious or having some "agenda". So I just shut up and observe now. But since you asked, I'll give you my opinion. Yes, the Cobb Stage 3 cars were faster, there's no disputing that, and I guess for this event that's all that matters. They got the win. Hat's off, congratulations, kudos, and well done! However, in my opinion, the results of this event call into question the published HP/TQ figures of the package. With nearly 40hp and 100tq more then the GIAC Stage 2+, White991TT's car was only 2mph faster (not what I'd call "crushing"). To me, something doesn't add up. There, you wanted it...I said it.

Looking forward to being in the upgraded VTG mix.

I agree with Tom that in the event of a blown engine, which is like A $50k repair, Porsche will indeed send out its own representative to examine what happened and they will discover the tune even if the car is flashed back to stock. A dealer can certainly look the other way on the smaller repairs but if there is a calamitous breakdown necessitating a huge warranty repair I would expect it to be escalated beyond the dealer to Porsche.
There is no equivalent to the Champion warranty in the AMG tuning world (Eurocharged has a limited warranty which is better than nothing but I didn't want their tune) which explains why I have kept the performance mods on my E63 S to a tune and mufflers.

I stand corrected on the HP numbers then...my mistake. I tried to legitimately ask about how the hp/tq should translate to mph at an event like this in a couple other threads, but all I got was finger pointing and name calling. Honestly, I think it would be pretty useful information for us all to try and figure out. But honestly, the "I beat you...haha" attitude is kinda ruining the vibe around here lately.
Me too.
So the HP difference is relatively negligible. I guess the torque delta then explains why the ByDesign car pulled away at the start. Does this sound right?

Nice
