Shift Sector COBB Tuned 991TT Vs. GIAC Tuned 991TTS- THE ANSWER!
OK. I wasn't there. I don't have a Stage II or Stage II+ or Stage III tune (I will soon!!!!), but doesn't this video show the answer to our questions?
Really, I KNOW that GIAC doesn't have a Stage III that is advertised yet, so I don't know that it is fair yet, but doesn't this show what everybody else is talking about?
I SO want to be there with you guys and enjoy an adult beverage after it all goes down, but for now, I'll have to live vicariously through this vid.

I tapped the throttle, so Nigel knew to hit it then I nailed it so it was a pretty fair start. Nigel's car was running better than mine on Saturday, his car is really fast. He also has FBO I do not, I do not have headers or Y pipe or plenum. Here is my fastest trap speed I believe it's the fastest 991 of the event
So these cars were NOT evenly matched bolt on for bolt on?
I was under the impression that these cars had the SAME bolt on, but maybe different manufacturers and naturally GIAC tune vs COBBS.
It would be nice to see same type of bolt ons with the only difference being the tuners (GIAC VS COBBS).
Either way nice runs!
Thanks

I trapped the highest speed of any 991 of the weekend GIAC or Cobb it was also faster than the Cobb 997 with Meth. My car would not hook up on Saturday with traction control off. Me and Nigel agreed before each run how we were going to do it. On the Roll there was no 2 seconds, I tapped it so Nigel knew I was going then I hit it. And from 40 to 157 he was faster by .2mph every one told us that was the most exciting and close race of Saturday. Nigel's car was faster than mine on Saturday with tech support from Sam and Cobb. Which is awesome it's something that I didn't have the luxury of. So not to bad for not having IPD y pipe or plenum or headers.
Sam really close I got a 146.47 in fact I trapped this twice. And he got a 146.59 he keep getting faster the more runs he did. It was great talking with you Saturday.
Yes Mark I noticed the same thing with Turbo Mike and his 991 Cobb Stage 2. With Methanol as the conditions got worse their cars just seemed to get better as the day went on. That would've been a good race also. But like we were talking about with Adam, it wasn't what we were out there for. Absolutely, it was awesome speaking with you as well. I know we discussed the drama so you will understand when I tell you the semantics and details I refer to don't have anything to do with you. It's a hardware, tuning and packaging conversation and unfortunately has become an argument recently. When a lot of hard work, dedication and reputation is on the line I will try to respond fairly and informatively if my product or my team are misinterpreted.
Yeah Enrique I think we have pretty much established that different days can't be compared unless everyone is there. That's why am glad we were at least all there together on Saturday. If a car pulls from another car in every race the same thing will happen the next day. It's just that both cars will get a little slower or faster. The conditions affect everything from traction to hp to aerodynamics.
