Shift Sector COBB Tuned 991TT Vs. GIAC Tuned 991TTS- THE ANSWER!

I was under the impression that these cars had the SAME bolt on, but maybe different manufacturers and naturally GIAC tune vs COBBS.
It would be nice to see same type of bolt ons with the only difference being the tuners (GIAC VS COBBS).
Either way nice runs!
Thanks

Champion is developing its own Y pipe as a result but it has not been released.
That is why I bought the ByDesign intercoolers since they mate up with the IPD Y-pipe and I have the IPD plenum. So now I will have a complete mated set on the intake upgrade side. No custom air box but I am not sure that helps so much based on my M5 experience. I think the intercoolers will take care of what a CAI was supposed to help with on the M5. We shall see this week how it dynos anyway.
But, we keep hearing how those things either take power away or don't add any....... So you are better off according to some on this board.
I have them all but then I just like spending money on mods so that doesn't mean much.

Congrats to everyone that went to the event and had a good time. And especially to Cobb for the win. A win is a win, 2mph is 2mph, so hat's off to you.
I have a question though...and I'm asking it from a genuine place, not trying to start any trouble. Was the Cobb Stage 3 car running at full potential? Based on the published dyno #'s I would have expected it to be a lot more then a 2mph differential between the two cars. As advertised the Cobb Stage 3 makes 25whp and nearly 100 wtq more then the GIAC Stage 2+, but in all honesty I'm no expert on how that translates into results at these types of events since Florida sucks and we don't have them here. I wonder if there was something going on with the car and holding it back?

We literally finished the car the day before. Our runs were actually shakedowns to gauge on pump gas and 100 octane. We gained a great deal of data while logging at the event. The tune was on point and the car performed flawlessly. Is there room for more? Highly probable......
Head to head to videos show how well the package works. Every time. Measured by mile per hour head to head it was just about 4 more. Gauge by the way one car motored the other head to head, indisputable! It was very crowded. Couldn't run to many times but I feel three vs runs were enough. Could we have run faster the next day as well then? Sure most likely. Could we have gone even faster if we were the first ones to run in the crisp morning? Sure most likely. But if you look at the video it tells a story. Paints a vivid picture. For the naysayers who were in my opinion rude. But for our team and friends, we felt great about it and the hard work proved itself. That and a good time is what I went there for

I was just asking what I thought was a legitimate question. I don't understand how HP and TQ translates to speed at these events, so that's all I wanted to know. But nevermind I guess...
I'm pretty sure the "naysayers" you're referring to have all issued congratulations at this point....so how about putting your guns down and relaxing a bit. I like the old "let's all get along" Sam a lot better...

From what I know, the torque helps yank the cars out of the hole down low (the hit too if rolling). The hp is what helps contribute to pulling up top (torques also helps maintain that pull though). Same applies for drag strip or these airstrip events.
LOL Tom. You know I've been doing this for a long time and I know just about everyone. I have seen just about everything. And yes I really like the way I've established Who I am with an almost 20 year track record. I have always been fair, congratulatory and loyal. But a lot has happened in the last 60 days and I have decided that I won't just be the nice guy who lets rumors (you know who you are), pushing around, (you know who you are), "but this and but that, then this should happen or that should happen" to take the polish off of another group and their accomplishment (you know who you are) and low level blows (you know who you are) just stick anymore. I am going to call it out. I am a lover, not a fighter. I don't think I have the guns out. Just call it reactive armor...With a smile
Otherwise, I would like to be a hippie and have a good time doing my favorite thing in the world next to being with my family as my career. Let's bring things back to the way they were. Congratulate. Don't use the word butt and if. That's how I have been from day one to everyone. And I would expect it back. Especially from my friends. Cheers, and I hope we can all be better selves with each other!
This rant was not directed to one person. It's between the lines for a few out there, FYI. Just standing tall that's all

Last piece from me on this, Nigels car is really fast it was faster than mine on Saturday. Would I have beat him on Sunday Probably not but anything can happen which is why you havent seen video number 3 yet. ( the Ugly beating on the Video that Nigel posted was a result of me not hooking up and not giac tune ). the 40mph roll was the one to show who's car was putting down more HP, his car was. there was no 2 second head start. Ive posted my fast time slip for Saturday which was 162.57 ( Nigel please post your time slip for Saturday so every one can see the delta ) and it was not the first run in the morning. This was my second 1/2 mile event Ive attended and the First from a dig and the first with the new tune so im still learning my car as is Nigel. Hats off to Sam for putting together a great package and the support behind it. Nigel did all the work to his own car thats awesome great job.
Here is a Video of me running an F-12 on Sunday, Ive got one of me running a 650s Im just waiting for it then i will post it also. The best part of this whole event is not this crap in this thread about 991 vs each other or 997's its about how our cars can whip the floor with all other exotics lets keep that thought. FYI Humidity was way up on Sunday along with a 15mph head wind!!! so most cars indeed were running slower. Enjoy
