GIAC Stage 2 update
GIAC Stage 2 update
I have the GIAC stage 2 with the EP exhaust and IPD plenum. Today Champion Motorsports did an update GIAC released for the stage 2 not stage 2 +
Car feels MUCH stronger esp up top and drivability while manually shifting (downshifting specifically) is Much better.
these are my impressions...i don't track the car, time it, or go by anything other than the SOTP meter....Very happy
considering the IC's soon, and the + program.
Not sure how much more power that will add but VERY happy with the car at the moment.

Hi Scott - what is the difference in wheel HP of Stage 2 vs Stage 2+? I'm guessing stage 2 is 530 and 2+ 570?
SDG-- what does very big mean?
For a guy that isn't taking it to the track and is street driving? I'm trying to justify the cost for the IC's while car feels very fast, much more than stock-real alive- now

Mark Blackwell's car which set the 10.19 time recently has the Stage 2+ with ICs and catless exhaust--same set up as my car
The other benefit is that with the new cooking there is no more heat soak power loss which was a big problem for me with the stage 2 with stock ICs at track events
Your car is already very fast. The upgrade will make it faster yet and performance is much more repeatable.

Id love to see dynos of all updated tunes from GIAC. I am been trying to find some info on this, but not finding anything.
I know GIAC and Champion are always hard at work with r&d to make their products the best, although....
It would be nice to have an easier way to find info on all tune updates from GIAC. I went on giacusa.com and didnt find anything.
Can you confirm there was an update and please lets get some 93 octane dynos! Maybe Champion can help here.

Major mods include:
Cobb Stage 3 tune
ByDesign intercoolers
Kline exhaust (high flow cats or catless)
Headers (ceramic coated)
IPD Y pipe
IPD plenum
The turbos are stock with this package. Stage 4 upgrades the turbos.
With this package, Nigel's car trapped at 164 mph in the half mile at Shift Sector
