10.46@132 - Stage I w/104 race gas (ALL ELSE BONE STOCK!!!)
As many of you may be aware, I am on a personal quest to maximize each stage of my ByDesign/COBB AP tuning stages. My initial 93 octane average run and 60’ were:10.50’s & 1.62’s respectively at over 130 miles per hour.
Decided to visit the track on May 1st; ran during an event called Import Face-Off. This time I came armed with Sunoco 104 race gas in tank under the COBB AP Stage 1 (race gas tune); all else remained BONE STOCK!
The car responded well despite the higher ambient temps, strong headwind and semi crappy track surface due to all the front drive imports. I managed 3 runs; average were in the 10.40’srange -10.46@132 being the best…60 foot times in the 1.64 range - not bad considering the wet starting line patches.
Note: If you ever noticed that the track is not hooking and/or its too slick, please DO NOT turn off your PMS/TC; doing so can only make matters worse and downright dangerous. Case in point, I watched a super clean and tastefully modded GTR hit the wall; he busted the entire front end of the car. Sadly, 5mins prior to his run, a couple of us suggested that he leaves TC on. He and his buddies pretty much looked at us as if we were crazy; I think some people just love that AWD invincibility machismo feeling and sometime end up paying the price. Nevertheless, enjoy the crappy video and pics…that is all I have.
We are planning to visit the track again this Friday Night; they are having a [Fast Friday] test & tune night from 7pm to midnight. I will once again run with 104 gas in tank and hoping for less crowd (amateurs), less front wheel drive cars and better track prep. It should naturally be cooler vs. the 90F track temps we experienced on Sunday May 1st.
Once this testing go-round is done, I will be moving up to the ByDesign stage 2 [Klien exhaust (no cats) and retune] for 93 &104 gas...will be shooting for 10.20’s on stock Pirelli’s tires.
Thanks,
E-Gear

Thanks guys.
I will keep plugging away, hopefully weather and track cooperates this Friday night; hoping to make at least 5 passes and dial her in really well before moving up to the next stage.
Thanks,
