I have blown a boost hose off for the second time in 400 miles. Has anyone experienced this and if so, any solution?
I would blow boost hoses off on my modded diesel at 60 psi, just make sure you have good T bolt clamps and I use hair spray between the tube and housing, never blow off again.
Lots of accurate information here. I'm not sure if your issue is related to the recall if you have aftermarket intercoolers as the AWE kit provides their own hoses. Or two recalls those. One for the top and one for the bottom. Feel free to reach out on Monday and I'll gladly walk you through some tricks generally ensuring it will never happen again
Thanks for the input. First of all a great deal of noise happens when the boost hose is loose or off and virtually no power. I got the car in the air and found the passenger side boost hose felt loose at the turbo. The clamp seemed a good 2 inches down from the top of the hose. I loosened the clamp and pushed the hose back up toward the turbo and positioned the clamp up near the end of the hose at the turbo and tightened. Seemed to have fixed. However, in response to KA997, I did have a small boost leak on my previous 997 that the dealer found. I knew that something was wrong due to low psi readings. By the way, what should my psi gauge be reading and how long does the maximum psi hold?

I am still on my original hose and mostly it's an issue of the clamp not seating properly. It's not hard to reseat the clamp yourself from the top. Just take the fan shroud off and then reach in and loosen the clamp enough to make sure you can move it easily. Then you should also make sure you do have the hose over the lip on the intake. Afer that, it's just a matter of making sure the clamp is in the flat spot on the hose, level all around and tightening it up. It helps to have someone hold a good flashlight so you can see or have a bright shop light. Took me about a half hour to put mine back on between runs at COTA. Hasn't blown off since. I am also not mechanically inclined so this is even easier for those who are.
The recalls were on 14's and 15's.
The dealer re-tightened mine, it came off again on their test drive. They kept my car and had a new design hose and clamp come in and installed it. No issues since. Make sure you get to address this with your dealer.
Sorry, no pictures, have no way of getting my car up in the air.
Mine did that at a 158 miles on the odometer.
I have @ 5200 miles on my '15 and the boost hose came off at least 5-6 time on both, left, right, top, bottom, you name it...
First time, it came off when car was stock at @150 miles, than after that i went straight to stage 4 and than it happened again and again and again, lol. Last time i took it to a friends shop and i think they fixed it...
They used some clamps he said they use on their race cars and that seemed to fix it ( for now...i don't want to jinx myself ) there's even 2 clamps at the top and bottom...did not have a problem since...keeping my fingers crossed.
Here are some pics.
That's not a stock hose. Not the same. My shop considered a different hose but in the end I bought another stock hose but never installed it. I still have the original and the clamp hasn't come loose since February. It's really easy to put back on.
