Rolling start in Germany + 1/4 Mile Runs

Hey guys,

I'm here to share my experience with my TurboS. Back then I only had a software tune ( ~630 engine HP on a Mustang dyno ) - everything else was stock.

M5 F10 ( claimed 750 HP )

RS6 C7 ( claimed 740 HP )

Mercedes AMG GTS ( claimed 660 HP )

It's a 1000m race , top speed wins. I did 269,46 KMH on that event and became 8th.

My car does 10.7 sec on a 1/4 mile @ 130MPH/210 KMH and 1.7sec for 60 ft which is not so good I guess. I run stock PZero tires , track is not on glue...
What mods would give more speed and better 60 ft time? Do you think the Cup2 tires will help to do better launches?

Its fun to see the RS6. As an E63 wagon owner, I have always had a cautious respect for them. At the 1/2 mile last week there was a 900hp E63 Wagon that trapped 165 mph in the 1/2 (from a stop). Fast wagons are wonderful

@Visceral
Indeed, They can be really hard to beat on German Autobahn. Once they are at higher speeds and if they have more power than you, they are really hard to catch. See how fast the M5 moves above 250kph.

I had a chance to race the 991 Turbo S Edo Compeition which was claimed at 672HP . He obviously was on boost when I pressed the pedal, but he was not so fast as I was expecting. So I could catch up and do better speed than him. His top speed that day was 261kph/167mph.

So what is better for first 60' time? Toyo R888 or the Michelin CUP2? Has anyone tried this out?

R888. The Cup2 sidewall is stiffer and ends up hurting the 60' pretty significantly. The R888 is more of a straight line tire.

that could be because he was running with his spoilers extended, which severely hurts straight line speed.

I tried the same thing, the difference was +-1 kph if not less.

Kiketech, you're correct! Although, our Turbos are better off the line it's also interesting to see how it performs on on higher Speed which is in my case real everyday situation on the Autobahn. We might have a very fast car off the line but on the higher speed, it can be a total different story.

However, my tuner worked on a 100octane map, and we're lucky to have it on almost every gas station in Germany. I was wondering if my numbers are good enough and if the elevation of 550+ Metres does affect the time a lot? I only have an exhaust and bmc filter.

I was at a 1/4 Mile Event which was on an airfield without glue on the track.
It was not so easy to get the tires warm, because of the huge waiting line plus rain in the morning and lots of broken cars on the track... I think we could even do better once tires would have been more warm. This run was with PSM on and it was so far my best run that day. Rear tires were at 43,5 PSI and 36 PSI front.
The car ran strong, and the time was 10,375sek @ 215kmh/133 mph.

This was not a very good run, PSM off, cold tires and lots of wheelspin.

His top speed that day was 233kmh/144mph - Wouldn't that mean that he had more than 580HP he claimed?
