I thought rear spoilers deploy automatically at higher speed, but in this vid, they are up while the cars are standing still...

Does anyone know if there is a button to deploy the wing at any time?

(it looks so cool!)

This video makes me see a great car is being replaced with a great car. Both the 997 and 991 may be ranked after a few years. Even Clarkson ranked a 996tt as the best car you could buy in 2004.

poo to the naysayer

a) i'm not 'old' b) some of the best things started in the '60's and c) WE don't seem to notice your world view

all due respect, yet we're evolutionary creatures

LOL! Yes the 911 is not a Lamborghini on one extreme or a Dodge Charger on the other. I agree, the 911 is classic, elegant and sophisticated for a car that performs on the track like it does. It may seem geriatric because it doesn't scream I'm the craziest new race car, but then again 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 years later it remains cool and also doesn't scream I'm an obsolete "new cutting edge" futuristic design from a bygone era.

Great walk around. One of the best I have seen. Really gives you a chance to look up close at fit and finish etc.

I don't understand why a member takes the time to view a thread and logs on to post critical comments...over and over.

There are so many makes and models on here. Maybe "hang out" with what you like .

Seems to me that Porsche has turned the rear-engine layout into an asset rather than a liability, something that apparently other manufacturers are unwilling to try. I understand that the weight distribution of the 991 is more balanced than the 997, but I don't recall seeing the exact numbers.
