991 Delivery delays?

Ordered my new 991 S weeks ago, was expecting a early build and a early Feb 2012 delivery..when I got this from the dealer, BH Porsche...if I want to keep my delivery date I had to order the sunroof...see the email from Porsche he sent me....anyone else had this experience?

I thought I had read some rumors a while back about this, or other limits on initial builds on one of the forums. I would be surprised if it was shenanigans from Bev Hills Porsche.

I still have no updates on my dec 991 allocation (ordered in sept). I did order the sunroof.

I just noticed I had not included the attachment from Porsche in my initial post....

991 Coupé Electric slide/tilt sunroof 11/17/2011
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Due to problems at a system supplier, Coupés of model range 991 without the electric slide/tilt sunroof can experience delays of up to 8 weeks.
This can affect vehicles up to and including allocation month January 2012. As soon as we have further information, we will inform you immediately. Best regards,
PCNA Vehicle Distribution

Since most all major manufacturers run lean inventories, a simple supplier issue can throw off the the delivery date schedule for an entire model configuration by weeks. I've seen something as simple as seats push back the delivery of my old boss's AM by 3 months.

I am told feb for the 1st cars, and the sunroof delete will be the extra delay for special order just like it is now. they all have sunroofs, so delete will take extra time
