How long is delivery?

I just found out that my car is scheduled to be completed March 10th!!! I wasn't expecting it so soon, but now i am wondering how long it would take to get it from Germany to Vancouver, BC. Anyone have any idea?

My 991S is being built noe and will be completed tomorrow. I am on the east coast so I assume delivery here is quicker. My dealer said I might even have it before the end of the month. Variables are how long it takes to get on a boat (could be immediately or could be up to a week) and time in customs (could be two days or two weeks). I was told that mine comes into Rhode Island and it will be at the dealer within 48 hours of release from customs impound. I assume yours will be getting on to a train at that point.

Enjoy. What did you build?

Carrera S
Agate grey exterior
two tone leather interior - black/dark grey (cant remember the actual name)
sport chrono
sport exhaust
colored centre crest on basic wheels (got the dealer to throw that in)
heated seats
sport steering wheel
"911" on back with delete of "Carrera S"
Manual trans (I love to shift gears)

I think that's it, that's all I could stomach as the cost was mounting. I'm thinking about adding the "Carrera S" stickers to the sides after I get it. I just thought it looked too crowded on the rear with "911 Carrera S". Or i'll leave it as a "sleeper" and people will think its a base...Ya, right!

It is usually between 3-5 weeks to the East Coast add at least a week to get to the West Coast. then depending on the port of entry it could be another week to ten days to get ti trucked to you.

I have been hearing stories about discounts. I can't speak for others, but I got a very slight discount. Did a bit better on my trade, but even that was below what I hoped. If 2012 was just another 997, my 2010 would have been worth X. But, because the 991 is a whole new thing, and in demand, it makes it harder to sell even new 997's without further discount - and that makes it harder to sell used 997's without still further discounts. They did give me more than I saw prices falling to in ads - and it took away the pain of having to sell my car. I did a quick claculation of insurance, payments, risk that it gets hit and further devalued (and, as it was a cab, I was not expecting to be able to drive it much in the winter anyway). All said, I would say my overall was about 3-4% considering trade. I am sure others did better. And you probably do better on a car on the lot as the dealer has expenses already.

All in all, a great time to by a new or slightly used 997!

Thanks for the input, seems like mid single digits is likely doable especially for a car on the lot. Problem is it seems most cars ordered have huge MSRPs probably because dealers make more margin on options and also assumed earlier 991 buyers would pay up...it seems spec'ing a car is better. to get a 911S with the "must haves" you're only at 110k or even a bit less maybe while most dealer inventory cars are high 110s or 120s.
