3-5% unless it's a demo car.

Was a trade part of your deal? No way most people are ever going to get 9% on a new model with as much demand as the 991.

Wow 9% seems like a really good deal in a car with high demand and low available stock. I hope I am that lucky when my CS- Cab arrives.

I got 3% off on my heavily optioned and ordered C2S Cab a couple of months ago. It sounds like the right number is 5-6% now.

Has anyone got any discounts like this at a California dealer? Thanks in advance for the input!

Sorry, I need to call you on that one. NO ONE can get 9% off a CAB! They are pretty hard to get and the dealers are not going to make 1% on a car, no matter how many cars you have purchased from him.

3% if you are a good customer, maybe 5% if they really like you but no way they will give 9%.

The 2 transactions should be negotiated separately. Do the deal for the 991 and then start to discuss the trade value. Any other way and you are at an extreame disadvantage.

Either way they can still rape you on the trade. If you negotiate the new car price first, then tell them you want a price on the trade vehicle, do you really think they are going to give you top dollar for the trade if they have given a great discount on the new car? Sure, you don't have to take the trade offer, but neither do you have to accept the offer if you tell them upfront you want to trade.

Going in to the deal, you have to know the % discount you want on the new car, and what you will accept for the traded vehicle.

When I bought my 991 in Feb, I asked for a discount and they said NO! Basically they said no dealer is discounting 991 unless your a dealer as well and the owner does it out of professional courtesy.

You're right, you do have to search around to get a discount. I was lucky to find one last December when I ordered mine and it wasn't much, but at least it took care of the taxes.

Darius,

I'm located in the Bay Area and I looked around at most of the dealers in both Northern California and a few in Southern California, Arizona, Texas, and even Florida before I ordered my 991S in early February. 2-3% was about it then but I am sure that you can get a better deal now that all the buzz has died down. I went with Porsche of Stevens Creek and if you want to talk with the guy I used, send me a pm and I'll give you his information. Super guy and that's why I would highly recommend him. Good luck.
