Scrapes on the undercarriage - Help!

While I love the stance of the 991, I seem to scrape the undercarriage of the nose every day. I am going to install a new driveway and apron, but I can't fix all of them - everywhere. Is there a protective coating I can use? Help! That sound and thinking if the damage being done if maddening

Thanks in advance.

That's interesting - I am not scraping anywhere that I used to scrap in the GT3 which was just about everywhere, I had to remove the front piece every 12 months. I was thinking that the 991 S (my is lowered only 10 mm as a CAB) had pretty good clearance compared to the 997s and particularly the GT3 and GT3 RS. Your car may be lowered by 20 mm or almost an inch. Must be those NJ roads!

Another reason to love the Garden State! It seems like every apron in and out of every parking lot causes a scrape. I hope the front end has a piece that can be replaced - I am going to need it!

How has your driving been?

My C2S is lowered 20mm and I need to go over curbs at an angle so that your wheels don't go into the dip at the same time. Ditto with larger speedbumps, although there I tend to go all the way to the side of the road where there is typically a flat surface, at least for one side of the car. So far I haven't had any scrapes yet. This is in CA, though. YMMV

I was traveling again, but the car had its rear bumper repaired anyway - they did a great job, so good that I might have them wet sand the car to really make the paint pop. They didn't have all the replacement lettering for the rear available so I had them leave all the lettering until I decide what I want back on the car - looks different without the lettering. I'll post a photo tomorrow.

I have another 300 mile drive on Monday and I am taking the new car, looking forward to getting back into it. I have 700 miles now. You have your track day this weekend?

Hi Newman,
a beginners' rally tomorrow and AutoX on Sunday. I just crossed 1,000 miles. Track days don't come until mid June. A 300 mile drive sounds great.

I assume you've tried to take the driveways at an angle (if there's enough room)?

Well you sure are getting everything out of the way quickly... screw in your tire, dent in your door, buffeting from sunroof...
But I bet it non of it can take that smile of your face.

I'm sure you're already taking the curbs and driveways on as much angle as you can...
Covering the lip with anything will only result in that getting scrapped as well as the lip.

I'd just replace the lip when it's too chewed up, takes 10 min. and costs 200 bucks...
I think by design because the 991 seems to be scrapping more than the 997/996 hence the easy removal system and lower cost compared to the previous generations.

At leastthat's my hypothesis.

Thanks all,
I am getting better at angles, and around town I am getting to know which parking lots to stay out of. Sid, if it is that easy to fix, I agree - I will do what I can to avoid it, but I won't lose sleep over it either.

Thanks again.

Sid, yours must be getting closer. Any news on the rear end question?

Hopefully it is the SPASM front lip that is being scraped. Easily replaceable and cheap by Pcar standards.

Do you have any pics of the scrapes?

I've scraped a few times from my work parking garage. I enter my driveway at an angle to eliminate the scraping.

Here's an idea for some enterprising organization; make a software / hardware device (Mods4cars RemoteKEY size) that would extend your PDCC hydraulic actuators to full when you are below 5 MPH and press a button under the dash. That would raise the car substantially when you wanted to turn into your driveway.
