Colors
As kids, when we fell in love with our first Porsche, how many of us can say it was black, white, or grey? Probably not many.
So why are the huge majority of new Porsches these colors? Is it a statement about the demographic purchasing the cars now? When I shop the ads I'm looking for great color combos so that the car is slightly unique, which rules out most 911s, and it makes shopping for a 911 much less exciting than it should be. And then, when you are lucky enough to find one in a neat color, the dealer wants an arm and a leg for it. But then on the flip side, when you go to trade, they hose you because it's a unique color that will be "difficult to sell." It's a sad state of affairs in my estimation.

Actually I did fall in love with a white one.....at least where I grew up the early to mid 80's 911's were always white or red.....I think when i was kid I thought they were the only colors they came in...lol. In my opinion....I think any Porsche in any color is beautiful....though we may have preference I would say most of us have unconditional love for this car.....

Many. Blues, yellows, ruby red and arena red, cream. The greens and oranges recently used on gt3rs's. The pts list on a previous post has many great choices. Diamond blue is a gorgeous color. Someday i'd love to order a pts pastel yellow or champagne yellow 911, but I didn't see either on the current list. No matter - I'm not in the market now.

Interior was important to me, so I went with red leather and platinum, which was interesting, because shortly after I ordered it the early 991 ads came out featuring the same color combos.
Can't comment - don't know much about it. I'm really satisfied with my current set-up, but I'll definitely keep it in mind if I ever tire of my combo.
Yeah. By the time I ordered my GTS, ruby and crema were not available, and pts was not available as it was too late in the model run. I would have liked to have ordered a crema with brown top and red interior, ruby with brown top and natural brown, or pts yellow with black.

Yours sounds beautiful. When I said red/ Platinum, I meant red int with platinum ext. It was too late in the model run for a custom int too. But I did order silver seat belts, alum look instrument surround, and silver contrast stitching throughout. Pics are available in my albums on this site. Only regret is that I didn't do console in leather. And if money we're absolutely no issue, the hvac/pcm surround in alum look would look great if you also did the console in alum look. But that silly little panel on the dash in alum was around $2300 and I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
This recent trend bothers me too, but I think that this emphasis on white, black, and gray is industry wide. I cannot really fault Porsche for giving consumers what they want. And the last time Porsche did something risky (like racing green), dealerships got hosed.
Btw, I love malachite, but am afraid to order it without seeing it in person on the actual car.
