Yep-don't believe the Josip knows what he is talking about. It is definitely a new feature on the 7MT +SC

"We don’t really see that as a step forward, and making things worse, the technology is expected to trickle down to other 911 models. Eventually, it will find its way into the Boxster and Cayman as well, perhaps driving yet another nail in the coffin of the manual-transmission driving experience. "

So will my 2012 C2S 7speed manual get it? who knows. maybe.

Thanks for the update. I forgot about the press release and the C&D story.
If true, I like the way it is done by only working in the "Sport Plus" mode.
Most of the time I would only use this mode at the track. Kind of nice to concentrate only on braking at the limit while entering a turn to not to worry about matching the revs and the tranny. Even when only going 100 on the pretty smooth autobahns, the sport button was plenty of stiffness. The Sport Plus was too much, made my eyeteeth rattle.

+1. But the 370z (I owned a 2010 Touring+sport) rev matched on Up shifts and down shifts when you had the feature on. Great car when loaded with all the options

I have an 2013 2SC with manual gearbox... I don't think Sport or Sport + do anything... Do they? I can confirm if it has the double declutch thing this weekend...

Hey n17mm, i was on the factory tour with you two weeks ago. I thought yours would have it, so sorry if i added to things. I didnt realize that it was only on with the sport chrono. With that being the case i doubt its a big deal to you now, cause how often will you use it. I think in the last year ive used it ONCE on the panamera - its definitely only for the track or outrunning the police.

Hope you had a nice adventure

update from the factory

Just got this by email today: After I had sent the articles and press releases.

Hello Fred,

in combination with the 7-gear manual transmission, the Sport Chrono
Package for the 911 Carrera 4 Modellyear 2014 will be enhanced by an
intermediate throttle application. For now it is just available for the 991
Carrera 4 modells. Also it will be available for 991 Carrera 2 with Sport
Chrono Package from start of production Modellyear 2014 which is in the end
of 2013.

For now it´s not sure that 991 Carrera 2 S Modellyear 2013 will be able for
updating with 2014 software which provide the expanded feature. Your
Porsche Dealership will be informed in 2014 if it is possible to update
your car with the MY 2014 Software.

Many regards

To: Fabolous in Seattle. We had two groups from Seattle. Are you the couple with the "lost luggage"? How was your trip with limited clothing?

??? I do not understand this ..... in the first sentence Josip told that only on 4 models available starting MJ 2014 ..... and in the next sentence he told "for now available" ....

Does this mean that all 4 models build from now on are MJ 2014's?

Or does it mean that in the first few months the new feature isn't available ... even in the 4 models?

Confused regards
Gregor

I think he's saying it is available for the C4s and may be available for the C2s a little later in 2014 for 2014 models. He also thinks it might be available to retrofit to 2013s if you have sc. That one sounds iffy.

Personally, I thought that was the fun of a MT. But I do recognize that perfect matching is difficult (especially under track conditions).

Ouch!

Ah ya. Been away from Canada for too long. I also notice on top of the taxes, the prices are typically higher for Porsche cars. It's unfortunate considering the CAD is on par with the USD now.
