Pulling both paddles puts car in Neutral?
Pulling both paddles puts car in Neutral?
I heard this works but I have tried it every which way and I can't seem to get it to work. Does the auto turnoff feature have to be on for it to work or is this simply some myth and it doesn't work.
I would think it might only be on the Sport wheel with the proper paddles.
+1 methinks

Which wheel do you have? Multi function or Sport?
As others have stated pulling both may only work on the Sport wheel. On the multi function wheel how about pressing down and at the same time pulling up on either side?

On multi function you may 'upshift" to "coasting" by pulling one shifter towards you. this will disengage the tranny and allow you to coast. should you desire to accelerate it will automatically engage or, if you brake it will also engage.
I have the paddles and it is easy to operate. I remember it not working on a 991 I took for a test drive, probably because the car had buttons, but to be fair I can't remember with that much certainty.
What is certain is that a pull on both paddles, be that in Normal, Sport or Sport Plus, puts you in neutral.

On my F360 with F1 trans I would put it neutral sometimes by using both paddles, but this was a (single) sequential gearbox.
After needing transmission work (1st gear) I was told by the dealer that if you sit still with the car in gear that the clutch ends up overheating to such a degree that it will damage the transmission... and therefore make sure that I pull back on both levers and put it in neutral when waiting at a traffic-light.
Supposedly this was the whole reason they designed the paddles to perform that function.
Now I will add that out of all the guys I know whom have a Ferrari NON had ever heard of this...
I'm wondering if the PDK designers used the same type of reasoning re; giving the paddles that function (putting it in neutral)...
My guess; would be if you do not have sport wheel then left and right paddles would have to be set in opposite direction. One up one down as on the sport. Most of the clutched gearboxes went to neutral when up and down shift were selected at the same time.
Finally got it working..thanks guys. Cool option for sure. Was hoping it would do this when I picked it up but tried a few times to no avail but it definitely works.
(I have the sports steering wheel. not sure if it would work with the multi sport)
