7:37.9
Don't want to sound like a dork but is this not the same Timo Kluck that holds the 7:18 time (6 fastest I think) on a GT2 ?
Me thinks I like his driving style - gets the results. No ?

HA! It's about time Porsche stopped sandbagging the Turbo to keep it slower than the GT3.
Unless.......
The GT3 actually went faster, which would be absolutelyunfreakingbelievable for an NA GT car with 450 ish hp.

Ring times will continue to get faster and faster. The cars are somewhat faster (mostly hp and more aggressive suspension tuning), but the tires they are using are WAY faster than yestertech, there are plenty of repaved sections of the track which in turn go faster and the efforts put into the times have increased due to more competition wanting the bragging rights to sell cars.

I want to believe that, but need something more concrete. I really hope it's true though. About time the turbo got some love from Porsche instead of being treated like a step child in the handling department.
i saw another video today with a Base 3.4 991 turning a 7.48. IT had many of the performance options like pdk, sports plus, PASM, 20s and the stock Pirellis, etc but still... a Base car with factory options and "only" 350 bhp... That's crazy!!!
Word on the street is the GTR that has been testing at the Ring recently turned in a similar time, maybe slightly lower

Some cars wear the sticky Pirelli tires as well.
Yeah, but most people are using real sport cups, not slow n-spec ones. Real cups are hella fast. Then there are sneaky tires with r comp level grip like on the gtr and zr1. They have high tread rating but have soft rubber as tested by pyrometer. And wheel sizes are wider and bigger allowing more contact patch and grip.

Only marginally better in the wet, but neither are very good. But sacrifices a LOT of dry grip. I would not get N-spec Sport Cups if I were you. I'm pretty sure there are R888 in 19's. May want to try those if they have the right size for you. There are the best all around IMO (wet and dry grip) for RComps.
PSS have gotten much better reviews than PS2. RE-11's have great grip too.

Impressive times. This is proving to be a much faster line than the outgoing 997. I'm not going to hold my breath on those Turbo times, but they aren't unbelievable.
I skipped page two - any conspiracy theories about the use of PDK vs single clutch manual?
I missed the obligatory - 'yeah, but it's more fun to row your own gears and go slower' posts.
