Windshield Wiper movement

Whenever I turn off the key after driving my 991S, the wipers have a little up and down routine they go through. They move about 5 mm, only once, and that's it. Doesn't do it any other time. Can anyone confirm if their car does something similar? I've never owned any car that exhibits this tidbit of behavior.

Thanks.

Thanks for the response guys. This must be normal.

Now I'm off to work some more toward getting those 2K break-in miles on this baby. I thought getting 1,200 on the E92 M3 was tough. I suppose there are harder things in life to have to do.

I haven't noticed it. I don't have the rain sensing ones though so it might be a feature with that option. It's probably to ensure that the rubber doesn't stick to the windshield, ruining the blade.

I thought rain sensing is standard option? I don't remember ordering it on the S.

On my Cayenne, the wipers do this to alter the resting position on one side then the other (ie. it stops on the down thrust, then alternately stops on the up thrust) to extend the functional life of the blade.

My 991S does this too, I thought it was because I always leave the lever in the first "up" position, which is the rain sensing position (I think).

This maneuver is done on every vehicle that I have owned with rain-sensing wipers.

This is normal.
