DVD Audio
The PCM can play DTS DVD autdo. No problem sounds awesome on the bose. I have yet to try a SACD.
Does not play SACD - I tried...but it sounds fantastic on DVD Audio, DTS or MLP 5.1 discs. I always have 6 discs in my in-dash changer...we have 2 cars with Burmester and 1 with Bose and they all work great (Burmester sounds insane). As a hint, you can also play concert DVDs (5.1 Dolby Digital or DTS) and it is a great way to listen to your favorite concerts. I just got Peter Gabriel Live in Athens which is 5.1 DTS and the sound mix is terrific. Also Sting Live in Berlin; I got 3 copies of it on DVD so I have one for each car! Great stuff...whenever I tell friends with new Porsches about this, they never listen to anything else again in their cars!

I went to the dealer today and tried out various dvds on the Burmester. It played every 5.1 DVD fine, the sound is phenomenal.

Has anyone tried playing a ripped DVD encoded in 5.1 discrete from an iPod? I know that a program like Handbrake can convert a DVD and put it onto an iPod thru iTunes. It would be nice to have all the 5.1 discs on a 160GB iPod. When I get my hands on my 991, this is what I will try to accomplish.
Just an update. I am able to extract 5.1 AC3 and DTS with DVD audio extractor. I picked up a USB external portable hard drive at Best Buy and formatted to FAT32. I couldn't believe that they sell a Porsche Design version there. I am going to extract a couple discs but will have to wait until I can go to the dealer and see if this works.
I noticed in the good to know iphone app, they now list WAV as a supported file format. On the Porsche website iManual it is missing. I am wondering if the website is not updated.
If the PCM supports WAV thru the external USB, DVD Audio and DTS CD could easily be played thru the drive rather than individual discs. I have a large collection and this will make it easy if it can read the wav file which is encoded in surround.
Could someone check the printed manual and confirm the PCM supports WAV for 2013. Thanks
