As improved as Bose is on the 991, it is still no match against Burmester. I've been opposed to spending the extra for Burmester but I think it'll be a tick on my options list for the next 991.

Excellent, thanks for sharing. It was definitely an option that I was on the fence about - glad I ordered it. But, it is going to make the next three months wait even harder...

 

Personally, I'm in the camp that prefers engine (and intake) sound when I drive a 911 but if I weren't and went for the Burmester, I'd look into quieting the Sound Symposer so it doesn't interfere with the acoustics. There's a past thread on how to do that and it's apparently pretty simple.

I've evolved over the years. Now, I am firmly in the camp where there in an inverse relationship between the amount of money you spend on (and quality of) your home system and the amount of time you are actually interested in listening to music in your car.
