Gasoline Type

Picking it up in two days (techically one, since it's midnight). I have looked on the forum, but found no answer....

What kind of gasoline should i put in her...?

Does it truly make a difference?

VGM911 is infamous around these parts
Follow the factory recommendation, which probably specifies 93 octane. Would you really consider anything less to save a few cents per gallon?

Yup minimum 93 octane and if you can get it with No Ethanol even better. I'm lucky that we have a few stations nearby that do.

Thank you for your replies. I was actually curious, since I saw on the National Geographic 991 documentary that they allowed the car to accept any kind of gasoline...but if it does make a difference, I will stick to it. Sometimes, I get the feeling that it's all the same gas, and they just split it in three different tanks with three different prices.....

In spite of some reports that all gasoline is the same, I prefer to err on the side of caution and pay the extra pennies. I always use the highest octane that I can find. However finding no ethanol is almost impossible down here.

Ale, when is that big day - Saturday?
Picking it up or having it delivered?

93 minimum? Here in California, we only have 91 unless you go to a specific gas station.

Impossible to find no ethanol gas here. I have studied the issue a bit and they use the least amount of ethanol in 93 octane because ethanol reduces octane ratings of gas. The higher the octane, the lower the percentage of ethanol content.

Using lower rated octane will cause the car to pull timing and lose hp under load.

Post pics!

Just curious...

Has anyone ever used, or considered using, a "custom" racing brand of fuel such as VP or Rocket as the primary fuel in their pride & joy? As opposed to using "pump" fuel all the time.

Is it just too expensive to run a "showroom stock" car on these specialized racing fuels, or would they possibly damage the engine & fuel system under prolonged use?

I think alot of enthusiasts fret over the right quality & brand of engine oil - I'm one of them - and yet isn't the type of gasoline you put in your car just about as important?

Thanks in advance!

I use 93 here in area Dallas area because I know where to find it, but in Fayetteville, AR I couldn't find it even at the same stations brands as here so I used 91. Be sure and read the manual on this when you get it as there are limitations based on reduction of octane.
