Waiting anxiously for my 2013 S coupe
Waiting anxiously for my 2013 S coupe
This is my first post-be gentle.
Order placed in mid December and is locked for a January build.
I'm waiting for delivery, should by end of February or early March.
Basalt black exterior
Premium package
Bose audio
Black standard interior
Sunroof in glass
Sport exhaust(love the sound and couldn't do without it)
Sport Chrono ( does seem to improve throttle response and I enjoyed it on my previous Boxster)
20 inch Carerra classic wheels
Seat ventilation (my back sweats like crazy even with the a/c and I'm pretty skinny)
Smoking package (I don't smoke but gives a cleaner look)
I know the order is locked but just reassure me the car will handle great even without the PDCC.
Yes, I did test drive the car on multiple occasions without PDCC although the test drive is not real life. I loved the handling on my 2011 Boxster that I sold in order to buy this. I was trying to keep the price somewhat reasonable. I will not be autocrossing or tracking the car. Just wanted the best car out there with rear seats, amazing sound and engine and great handling and beautiful exterior. I will send pics when it arrives. I have read every post I could find about PDCC and everyone who has it says they love it and must have it but my question is for those who don't have it. Is it still an engineering marvel without it? By the way, my order is locked, hope I didn't make a huge mistake by not ordering it.
By the way, I love this site and you guys make it incredible with all your comments. Thanks again.

you were wise not to post before your order locked, as many of us would have talked you into more options!
we are on the same time schedule for build, so i can commiserate with you on the waiting game...nice build, enjoy!

I forgot to mention I ordered the 7 speed manual and one other option, the Sport design steering wheel. It just looks fantastic.
I test drove the PDK and the shifts were so quick. I happen to prefer manual transmissions but I can see the appeal for the PDK (seems to be a highly personal preference and can't go wrong with either). I just enjoy shifting grabbing the shifter.
Thank you for reassuring me with the positive feedback.

I'm in the same boat with you and my black 991 will lock in the first week of Febuary. I'm tired of studying the configurator for any possible changes I may want, just lock it already !! HA HA HA

I have a MT S-Cab with a build date of 2/5. I understand the agony all to well. As for the PDCC I would not worry about it. I drove both and for me the PDCC was just extra weight and complication. Now, others who I respect, like the feel of it. But, if you don't have it I don't think you will miss it.
I've got a January build as well without PDCC. I think you'll be happy. The 991 even with no options is pretty amazing.
Funny so many of us with builds coming soon hanging out on the forum. Anything to make these last few weeks go by as fast as possible.

I got confirmation that my October 1 ordered 991S X51 Cab (with PDCC, Sport Design spoilers and much more) started it's build on January 11 with completion due January 18. Don't expect it to Vancouver for another 7 weeks or so. Waiting is difficult but at least I've got my modded 996 TT Cab to use if we get nice weather. It's a keeper also.

Oh, the famous black/black combo. This is not for every one but there is certainly a strong following out there for it. I like your options. You have the essentials and not much more.
As far as pdcc, while all that have it may love it, those that don't have it also don't miss it. The fact is that the 991 handles so well without it that it is hard to feel a need for it and you are not going to be tracking. You will love your car.

I also got confirmation that my car is in production now and is scheduled to be completed next week. Waiting is so hard..... On that note I have seen some of you post that you get updates on your car as it goes thru different stages of development. My sales guy says he can't do that. Doesn't make a huge difference but it would be fun to get a new email each day with a status update!
Looks like a few of our cars might meet at the factory! Mine should finish production this week. Next best thing to having the car is reading all about it. I ordered mine right around Thanksgiving, so I haven't had to wait as long as some of you, but the wait is quite painful.

once you get it and push the Sports Plus Mode that when all the fun starts.
The 991 becomes a mean machine.

You're going to love the black on black combo.
