I don't recall seeing similar 'gripes' or "I've got a lot of problems with you people" threads when the 997 was three to four years old ?

That weird mine works like any other car. I only see 194f all the time when driving on sport plus.

wanderfalke is infamous around these parts
Has anyone ever seen anything other than 194 after it reaches that number. I cannot figure out if the gauge itself goes higher. If 194 was real it would go up slightly after shut down.

Mine goes higher all the time. Maybe because I live in Florida.

Are you talking about the digital readout or gauge?

The digital I rarely look at the gauge. I'll post a pic when I get home.

This metallic vibration sound at 3,250 RPM has been complained about by quite a few drivers, including myself. Several of us are working on isolating it. As soon as my car goes in for an oil change and brake fluid flush in the spring. I am going to try and have my specialty shop isolate it. I am leaning the left heat shield vibrating as the culprit ( as viewed from the front of the car).

Have someone sit in the car and bring the revs up to 3250 while the car is still cool rest your foot gently on each exhaust tail pipe see if the sound goes away.

Interesting, I don't have a stock PCNA exhaust or stock tailpipes. I will try it and see.

Lack of dipstick to check the amount and color of the oil.

I've always felt the pronounced delay in deceleration once you lift off the throttle to be unacceptable and borderline dangerous. In normal mode (7MT) it takes almost a full second for any deceleration to begin upon coming off the throttle. I've read somewhere that this is due to emissions compliance (preventing unburned fuel from entering the exhaust), but where do you draw the line? When I rapidly lift off the throttle, I fully expect deceleration to begin immediately, not after the computer decides it has fulfilled it's emissions duties.

When you say delay deceleration, I assume you really mean the delay in the Engine RPM dropping....??

I have a PDK but I've never noticed any delay in rpm dropping... It sounds like you may have a problem that needs to be looked at....

No, I really meant deceleration, but you're correct in that there's not going to be any deceleration unless the rpm drops.
