Yeah depending on the gear and speed you are in I would expect a certain amount of engine braking to occur. When lifting the throttle..If I'm at 80 mph and in 7th gear and lift the throttle I wouldn't inherently expect much deceleration... If I'm in 1st I would expect to there to be a lot more..

But if you are seeing a delay in engine rpm response when lifting the throttle, ( ie interrupting fuel delivery to engine) that is something that should be instantaneous and not related to mode of operation... If that is slow to respond then I would find that scary..... and I'd get that looked at...

However if it is engine breaking without downshifting you expect then that's a different thing..

We own 3 current models

-fuel gauges go in different directions!!!

-electronic parking brake engage while pulling with one model and pushing with other!!!

-sensor to open the trunk (991tt) only works while washing the car not other times

It never ceases to amaze me how many people whine about their cars. There is nothing that I don't like about my 991.

I can't stand how after you put the car in Park it rolls forward another 4 inches before it engages

I agree that the response is more immediate in sport mode. Do you find the response acceptable in normal mode, especially the deceleration delay?

The sound it makes sucks.

And it cannot be fixed just by putting on a louder exhaust or ordering it with PSE.

I'm talking about overall engine noise. There's not enough of it.

And the intake noise you do get is not very pleasing to the ear.

I have to regrettably say that other than above 5,500 RPM in 2nd and 3rd gear I really dislike the sound of my 991.

Very disappointed.

First time I've heard anyone complain about a Flat 6 NA engine sound. It's beautiful with PSE. I have an S with PSE. It's the best thing I've ever owned.

With your base model and no PSE it might be a little disappointing? Never driven one.

Try a turbo engine! Talk about a disappointment.

Buy a BMW with fake engine sounds pumped through the stereo speakers. Cool stuff!

Ha, I know, I know. Maybe I'm extra picky because I've owned a few Ducatis with Termignoni exhausts. And before this a lovely 2.7L Cayman. But I feel it's not even a question of PSE or or non-PSE, the noise just generally isn't there from the engine itself, not the exhaust. No beautiful intake howl. Not enough mechanical noise. Just too quiet. It's not just an exhaust question. I test drove the C2S with PSE extensively and wasn't any more impressed. Ah well.

Main gripes are ones that I feel are totally unnecessary for a Porsche or any car over $30,000 today.

Auto brake
Not the smoothest for uphill starts. I've been conditioned for thirty years to react quickly when starting from stop and with the auto hill anti rollback brake, it is a bit tricky

No hand brake
- worked fine for however long it's been around, would have solved item above for those on extra steep hills

Emergency brake release
Not really intuitive in how to activate it release. Would have been nice to be a sort of trigger built into shifter, instead of on the left side.

No phone storage
Would love interchangeable USB dock to insert phones, or even a buried magnet somewhere so a metal sticker could be placed on back of phone.

Real cup storage
Would appreciate a coffee cup holder, as it is a quick turn could cause a McD incident on a passenger.

Rear seats
Wish the seat folded forward and seat back folded over for lower storage, to hold more.
How about easily removable seats.

Mount plates for roll cage install.

Roll cage
option for sub GT3 US cars

Control memory for all configurable options
Auto-stop

Center console buttons
Design to get rid of unused buttons, even a loaded car will have blanks

Configurable buttons
Blank buttons should have option to be switches, as it is now they are dummy pieces of plastic. The Can-Bus could be used to power and control radar and laser. Now we have to have to cut and mount these remote displays in ashtrays or other places.

Rear view mirror options
Powered for remote displays, and yes, the shape appears to be opposite of the view. Option to display rear camera, radar, laser.

Baffling at wheels wells
Driving on gravel sounds too tinny, some plastic would help

Rear view camera
Would easily fit between grilles and not be seen.
Why bother with the proximity sensors? They're a wax trap and clutter the bumpers

Steering wheel
Mounted horn or blinkers to be able to shift and change lanes at the same time.

Gas pedal
Better placement or hinge point
A bit challenging to brake/gas without changing pedals

Volume button
Could stand out and be a bit larger

Stock speakers
Suck, Camry level

Really? I find the auto brake is great. Really smooth and handy I love it.

I don't miss it at all. It's not like you need to be pulling it all the time. Put it on when you park. Take it off when you leave.

What's the Emergency Brake? Is this different from the handbrake? If not see comments above. Just pull the little lever and it releases.

I don't mid this at all and I have almost no options.

Driving on gravel sounds too tinny? Are you kidding me?

Then one **** would be bigger than the other. That would look bad. I've never had any issues locating or using the volume ****.

Anyway, we're all entitled to our opinions and theses are my opinions about your opinions.

Like another poster said, I'd sure hate you to rate my business on Yelp (Soap in bathroom not soapy enough, chairs a little low relative to table height, lighting a bit dark, room a bit warm.)

I am going to jump in on the Porsche "sound-haters" and tell you all an easy fix. If you don't like the sound, don't buy it! It is not a muscle car and will not sound like one.
My Turbo sounds great and anyone who says otherwise, come take a ride with me
It is very throaty and in fact when I first pulled it in the garage my kids ran outside to see where the helicopter had landed.

I love my Porsche. Quit talking smack about my turbo sound!

Mostly teasin.....
