A drive through Valley Forge National Park - Pic heavy

A cold but beautifully clear and sunny day today, so I rugged up and took the car for a little spin down the road to Valley Forge National Park. Lovely winding country roads. Apologies for the quality of the pics (iPhone).

Washington Monument

The huts that Washington's army camped in

Statue of General Anthony Wayne

View across part of the park

Washington Memorial Chapel in the background

Terrific pics Darren. Thank you for posting.
The color of the car matches the sky so beautifully.
Pic 5 (from top) is ace!
Thank you again.

Haku,
Thanks! After seeing the pics of your drive the other day, I was waiting for a sunny day to take the car through Valley Forge park because the scenery is just spectacular and also so rich in American history.

Last year on our way back from the cape we drove all the way down the Skyline, the Shenendoah and then the Blue Ridge Parkway back to TN. Amazing part of the world. Rich history which makes one feel so fortunate being here.

This April we may well go via Valley Forge.

Thank you Darren.

Great pictures Darren, oh and nice statues as well.
The scenery looks beautiful, what a great part of the country to take in a drive like that.
As usual your car looks fantastic. Seriously I just love the 991 in blue, every time I see your car I have second thoughts about choosing white. I also had forgotten that you put the red S on the rear., it looks good there. It adds a bit of color and ties in with the taillights well.
Thanks for posting the great pics.

Thanks CO997! The 991 looks good in almost all colours, even lime gold metallic . White is a really classic colour for the 991, so you don't have to worry about a thing. All the doubts and 2nd guessing will vanish as soon as you set eyes on your new toy!

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I went a bit out of my norm with the colors on this build. You know how it is, the longer you wait the more time you have to panic. I'm sure once I see it I'll feel much better. I am however on the fence with wheels. I have the sport design wheels but I really like the Carrera classics. Wondering if when I see it I need to switch, if the dealer will be able to do that right then???
This is what happens when you wait so long!!!

LOL. We've all been there. The more time you spend on Rennlist and 6Speed while waiting for your car, the more changes you make. If you really like the Classics, have you thought of using your sport designs as the winter set? If not, you should be able to work out some sort of swap out with your dealer.

That's because he was eyeing up the 400 horses!

Very nice Darren,
Between you and Haku, you could start a 991 2013 calendar.

Be warned - you may start detecting some resentment and road envy from fellow board members such as myself.

There are spectacular roads everywhere, so no road envy need be felt. . Would you feel better if I told you those roads all had 25mph speed limits?

Nothing that some **** (hottie in a bikini) and a phat *** (991) wouldn't fix! I drove from Philly down to SE Florida a few years ago.
