Passenger who launched me gets launched by me!
I asked my 87 year old Dad if he was up for a drive. Sure he was! So we did the twisties somewhat spiritedly and he was feeling great and comfortable with the car and hopefully me the driver. He commented about how wonderfully the car handles and the quality of German engineering. I was surprised at his calmness in the midst of my "spirited" driving. So I turn off onto a rarely used road which is in essence a straight and flat 2 mile long lane with zero traffic. We come to a stop. I check with my Dad whether he's up for a bit of a blast, oh yes! Time for this cars first launch control takeoff. Feet on brake and gas... revs up, brakes off..... whoaaaaaaa! Neck pushing and thrilling acceleration! What a car! My Dad grins, I gradually stop... only to do it again!
Launch control on this car is mind blowing and so so much fun. The screaming enigne and exhaust note just complete the mix of this fun feature and creating a thrilling experience. Its just another reason why the 991 is such a special car. The 991S is by far the most versatile 911 I've owned. I love it!
I delivered my Dad home in one piece and my Mom later said that he absolutely loved the drive. She did however ask me whether I drive like that all the time! Pffft parents huh?!!!! I am blessed to have them.
Here's a pic from the day. I'll post a few more soon.

What a great story!
Clearly the car is the catalyst however there's so much more between the lines.
For one, the kid inside your Dad is definitive proof that men do actually never grow up!
.
He was a trooper to let you document it for your brethren on 6, it really adds that extra dimension to the virtual experience we're sharing through this.
As to Mom... you'll always be here little boy hehehe.
Thanks for sharing Haku!

You are so right. We remain young at heart.
My thanks again.
Somehow these moments slip by as private enjoyment without the opportunity to document them.
I'm glad you caught this one and shared it with us!
Like the time I had 3 nuns in my last C4S cab with their arm in the air yelling "WHOOOOOOOPHYYYYYYYYY"... with the pedal to the metal launched up an on-ramp hehehe.
Lets just say the looks we got on the highway as we merged was priceless

Then there was the time with the 3 strippers... they went whooophyyyy as well but that's a whole other story... that one actually got my some fines that I had a hard time explaining to the wife hehehehe!

I just love the diversity of experiences these cars facilitate!

Thank you mdc, Darren and Sid.
Thanks for the full size pics Sid... I was lazy and was posting from my iPad which was having trouble connecting to my normal photo server.
Sid, the nuns and the strippers story sounds
! How the heck did you even manage to convince or cram in the nuns? and the strippers...
My word, your wife must be an angel!
