I live in a very populated area and it is difficult to open the car up on a normal day. Drive to city, drive home, etc. But I will go to the track, I do go on road trips and I do let it rip when I can.

Having said that, I just got back from a 20 minute private session in the car with my ipod and Bose is more than adaquate for me. The reality is that this car is here ready to be purchsed and the dealer is more than agreeable to offer a sizable discount. It is a very nice build and couldn't ask for more.

The 2 year (or 27 month) lease deals are really good and the PDCC car feels right.

Required pic attached.

Looks the biz Michael_s. So that's the one with the pdcc and all the options you've listed? If so, NICE! Bose is edequate. Seems a great car and obviously a good deal by sounds of it ....too good to miss actually!
I also love my music and have a bit of traffic on occassion, but an S with all the performance goodies would be hard to pass up. Black black too. It's all there.

Yes sir. The car in the pic is the build above with PDCC, PSE, SC, Adaptive seats, etc. and ready to take home in a days time. It's a really nice build. Just waiting on final numbers.

"Burner" system is coming out of a car I start a detailed thread comparing the Bose, bermiser and and aftermarket systems so you can look at the speakers and compare.

JMO, you can always upgrade the tunes. You have one chance at PDCC. You won't use it much to full advantage, but when you do, it will be keeping you heading straight down the road! Bose is OK. I'm looking to upgrade.

Go for PDCC.
You can always swap whatever stereo-equips with aftermarket any time you like.
But for PDCC, you can't add aftermarket

If you don't get PDCC and opt for the Burmester, you will get a lot more out of it if you use high quality audio formats such as FLAC, AIFF, or Apple Lossless. MP3's are better suited for Ipods and headphones than high-end audio systems. Either way, enjoy the ride!

I think I would get the PDCC. I know the 991 is quieter than the 997, but once the tires start to wear, the 991 will get noisier than when new. I don't think the 911 acoustical environment is that good, even in the quieter 991 to really be able to appreciate the Burmester. For me, I probably wouldn't get either, but if I had to choose, it would be PDCC.

I've said it before and will say it again... I am so impressed with PDCC that if the option is available and budget allows, I would not get a 911 without it and the S-PASM! They are a stunning combination.

I love good audio but these cars are never quiet enough to fully appreciate high-end audio. In a luxury sedan sure get the Burm, etc.

I agree with Haku. I have both options, but if I had to give up one of them, it would be the Burmester without question. The PDCC realy makes a huge difference and I would miss it much more than I'd miss the Burmester.

PDCC cannot be retrofitted (at least not now). You can upgrade the sound system if you are not satisfied later.

I'm in the same situation. Haven't found an in-stock c4s with burmeister to try it, the Bose has that Bose sound, which I think is pretty poor. The problem is I don't know if the 24 month lease deal will be around in three months and I don't want to buy this car because I want to return to a turbo (my current car's warranty is up).

I want PDCC and that's more important than the stereo, the Bose will do.

As said before, those p-zeros will get so noisy in about five minutes, it won't matter for long. Bose and p-zeros - who in the hell thinks either are a good idea?

Haku,

Can you give some insight into the ride of the 991 with PDCC and S-PASM and the GT3 you had.

I have driven a GT3 (on the track, at a reduced pace) but not a PDCC equipped 991.

Thanks

b, as this is somewhat off-topic (apologies to the OP) I'll keep my response brief.

Some good points were discussed on other threads and may be of interest to you.

SM_ATL: SM_ATL's Carrera S Journal

CM911: For those that have upgraded to 991S from a GT3 or a GTS.....

My post there may be of interest to you.

"I moved from a 997.2 GT3 to my 991S and have absolutely zero regrets. I do think thats its important to chose the 991 spec very carefully. In my case I wanted as close to GT3 like handling as possible but a car which is entirely useable everyday and with creature comforts that I missed. I couldn't be happier with my choice of options with the main being: PDK - PDCC - SPASM - SChrono plus, and PSE.

The PDK was a big decision and one I have no regrets with on the 991S... I actually really like it as opposed to the previous version (997) of it which I hated. For your comparison I also think the sport chrono plus is a must primarily due to the inclusion of the Dynamic Engine Mounts which make a difference in handling characteristics.

IMO and for me PDCC has been the big surprise. I took the 991S to the Dragon (US129) a few weeks back. Its a road I've driven with all my P cars including the GT3 and know it quite well. The way in which the 991 handled the corners and road in general was unbelievable! With almost zero lateral diving the car handled sublimely and took nothing away from the driving experience. I was in grin heaven! Even if I take into account what we all know about the changes and enhancements of the new 991 a lot of what I have experienced in terms of handling can be attributed to the PDCC. As you know, there has been a fair bit of controversy and discussion on this feature so this is just my ipression of it.

In summary, the 991S is different to its predecessors which includes the GT3 but I really have not missed the GT3 at all."
