So Sirius called the other day. My wife answered. As the rep tried to sell a subscription to the service now that our free trial had expired, my wife cut him off, saying that her husband had expressed no interest in signing up for Sirius.

Rep - "Well, then what does he use to listen to music in the car?"

My wife - "He says he only needs to listen to the engine."

Rep - pause, then "Well, that's a great answer! Thank you for your time!" and hangs up.

BTW, what do most folk end up paying for Sirius? I tend to hang out for the last minute and they usually come up with some deal. The one I'm currently on is $55 for 6 months.

 

$25 for 6 months was the last rate I was able to get from those chuckleheads.

Ha, I was able to heat my whole house this winter without the furnace simply by burning excess Sirus letters I got in the mail.

 

with sirus xm i always enjoy asking the first question "what country are you calling from" ? then the second question "how much do they pay you to do this job"? then i hang up.

I hate to fight it out with XM customer service - well actually I can't complain about the service - there isn't any.

 

No education necessary. She grew up with a 911 in the family; her father bought one in 1973 (which he still has). So she knows all about P-cars and what we guys love about them. And she has the sharpest wit of anyone I know. Needless to say, I shy away from any big arguments, lest I bear the brunt.

As for Sirius, even if it were free I wouldn't use it. Normal radio is fine for what little I listen to music in the car. The real-time traffic updates are interesting for use with the GPS, but that is something that Google provides for free in Google Maps / Navigation, so I have no interest in paying for that either.

Wasn't a fan of the Evoque to be honest. Lots of style but it lacked substance. We ended up buying a MB GLK.

 

Wife is going through this right now in her car... She listens to the radio a lot more than I do. Prices are acceptable, but more than I expected.

I'd purchase quickly, but there is an issue combining my car and hers. Apparently, I have a native XM receiver, and she has a native Sirius receiver, and the two can't be combined (as of last year).
