991 Clear Bra?

Yes; it gets wrapped around. I used these guys... I believe they're best in biz here http://www.premiermobilegroup.com/

Some films are not wide enough to actually wrap it around the edges on the hood. Xpel is as I just had that done to mine. When you clay/polish/wax your car the residue can accumulate along the edges of the film if they are not wrapped. You can use a qtip and solvent to clean it but it is a pain. Wrap is more expensive but worth it in my opinion.

It has to be full hood IMO or don't bother. Half - hood will accumulate dirt as Nine XI mentioned and look horrible. If shop doesn't do full hood, go somewhere else. I did full hood and bumper, but did not do mirrors or headlights. I wish now I did the headlights, but did read somewhere (I thought) that no coverings should be placed on headlights - I guess for proper heat dissipation (but like I said, this is what I thought I read - somewhere).

Definitately have it done. I used Eagleguard a few years ago for my 911's. They are located in Elmsford and come to your house. They do many high cars for dealerships in NY, and CT. Eddie is the owner, 914-789-5277. No affilation, but would use them again.

I never did. Maybe cause not a fan of clay. I did polish the area to be wrapped to remove any oxidation and highline swirls. If there are any paint chips, I would take care of them before the film.
As you probably know, the installer will use alcohol (or another chemical) to remove wax on paint, so it can adhere better.

A good installer will prepare the car before installing in order to get a good install. The will wash car, remove headlights, side markers, etc.

Highly recommend Greg at Signature Detailing. He uses Exprl Ultimate.

Frankly, it doens't really bother me (which surprised the heck out of me. I was fastidious with my previous car). This car is too fun to drive to worry about it too much. And I do plan to keep the car for many many years. Once I get a nice buildup of sealant and wax on it, the paint will be a little better protected.

I've had my car for 5 months now. No film. I like the exposed paint, and the feel of it when washing the car and polishing / waxing. BUT, I would consider just getting the front bumper done. I've got a couple tiny stone chips in the paint.

But don't worry about the bumper it doesn't get chips it get nicks and gouges. The hood will get the nicks. The bumper is just plastic and holds its color very well. I'm letting the chips go for now without a repaint. As the side protectors aren't doing very well either. There are chips above behind and in front of them. Unless you clear bra the entire car, you will get a mark somewhere somehow.
I am planning to keep my car for the long hall as well. My two cents.
To add, I would definitely do the headlights though. They collect chips like crazy and you can't touch up paint to glass, maybe clear resin. But they are, what, $1600 to replace each I think?
