Yeah, it's a psychological thing. Same as the people who have to get ahead if you to change lanes even though there is nobody behind you. It's simply a psychological thing, quite frustrating in both counts.

When I encounter somebody speeding up as I pass them; I use the hammer for a fly theory, and hit the gas.

Yup, the sound of PSE causes involuntary right foot extensions, even for drivers of the cars around you.

I notice it with no PSE........ especially pickup trucks. I'll be traveling at 10-15 MPH over the limit and a PU will pass me going at least 95.
