Father's Day fun drive.
Father's Day fun drive.
I decided to take my Dad (88 yrs old) out for a morning drive . It was a great time to be together and reminisce. I count myself so lucky to have both my parents alive and well.
Good wishes to all you father's!
We stopped at an old time gas station for a photo op.

Lucky to have your dad with you..cherish every moment! I lost my dad in my final year of eng school back in 1999..it's coincidental that June 16 is his anniversary. I cherish my time with my kids and remember my dad on Father's Day too!
These are those days that you get feelings of sadness but also good memories from the past. Allthough I think of them every day.
Agree with everything you say about cherishing the time with your kids. I think it's the most precious thing a dad can have.
Despite everything, I wish you and all the other dads here a happy father's day!

All my symphaty on the loss of your father. I know exactly how it feels on days like this. I lost my dad in that same year, together with my brother in a car-accident.

Fantastic story Haku! I am sure your parents must be as proud of you as you are thankful and caring for them.
I hope your dad enjoyed every moment of the morning drive, but I suspect you were not quite as fast as last Sunday

Thank you all for the responses.
Fester, my sympathies. I'm sure it's a very emotional day for you and hope that you sailed calmly through it with love from your family. I do believe that your loved ones that have passed on live on through you and your actions. Be happy that you had love for one another.
That is very very sad Suzy. My sympathies. To have lost both father and brother is unimaginable. As you mention, you have the memories and love of them to keep with you forever.
Thank you C. We had a nice drive and then a nice evening pub meal with my parents, nephews (5 and 8), and wife. Just perfect!
Thank you S. That's kind of you. I've always felt priviledged to be able to care for my parents. It's been a lovely way to give back a tiny bit of all that they've done for their kids. Yes my Dad really enjoyed the drive. True, not quite as fast as last week! Eeek! He loves fine engineering in cars and is always astounded at how far technology has come. We had a long chat about that and cars and roads in East Africa where he grew up.
