Thank you! Finally, a voice of reason!

lol! This is where things get hairy...

Watch this:

I'd like the car to know when I needed to shift, so the lag time is negative (meaning the car knew before I did). Enter - automated dual clutch in Sport+ mode.

Seriously? I don't know why we don't drive around Ferrari F-1 transmissions that can change gears in .05 seconds. Can't they be reliable and comfortable for the every day drive? No? Well then I'll settle for a paltry .1 secs.

So there you have it folks = .1sec is what should happen (kind of like it does already).

For everyone else who hates the actual gear shift - I present to you: the CVT. Always in peak power, all of the time.

(That .1 sec is the .1 sec delay to the .1 sec gear change) For everyone else - F-1 changes are actually .05, but the delay from the paddle is another ~.05 - .75, bringing the whole change from the button to the gear change to over .1 sec. I don't know how they live with that on track.)

Look, you can take 2 drivers of equal talent, driving the same course at the same time, same day and the pdk shod car will win period!
I'm not trying to make a case for manual - in fact, I'd love to have a good dual-clutch transmission in my street car that operates more like a direct sequential. So far, I haven't yet found one in a street car that's in my price range.

I'm trying to point out that the PDK has a significant flaw in its operation. Nothing anyone has said here has countered this - in fact, several people have confirmed that the delay is present. In deference to you I got in my car yesterday to attempt to recreate this perceived lag. The temperature was 74% with a light rain. In regular mode there is a lag, less so in sport and none that I could detect in sport plus mode.

Again, I'll ask - do you think this delay is desirable? If so, what is the correct or best amount of delay?

If not, why do you believe that this flaw shouldn't be pointed out and hopefully improved upon by Porsche?

This is the third time I've asked this simple question, and none of the people in this discussion have yet attempted to answer it.....
Put your car in reverse and mash the throttle
