Trip to the vet

So the dogs needed to go to the vet recently, and as luck would have it the truck was in the shop with a dead battery. So only option was the car. I put a furniture pad over the seats, dropped the top and headed out. Dogs loved the trip and did great in the car. No marks on the seat at all! Prob not something Ill do often but good to know its an option!

Hope they don't associate such a nice car ride with the Vet. They may not be so well behaved next time.

Love it, I have a 991 Cab and 2 yellow labs as well! Don't think they will be going for a ride any time soon.

Great photos! This scene would be very different with two German Shepherds!

Cheers,

That's just wonderful. I'm sure the dogs were loving the fresh air and will want to ride in the cab from now on!

Well done.

I've got Havanese and they are all of 10 pounds and 21 pounds, respectively. In a pinch I've taken them to the groomer in my Bentley. The breed doesn't shed or smell so it's really not a big deal as it is with bigger dogs that do shed and do smell.

Good point on the lack of shedding. I wasn't quite so lucky, labs definitely shed. However the clean up was actually pretty quick. Most of the hair stayed in the furniture pad so not too much made it onto the carpet.

Great photo !!! You got lucky too !! (no scratches or accidents) .
We have a multiple cat household have found that this pet seat cover along with a carrier to secure them for transport is ideal . We mostly use the Cayenne for transport. It is waterproof and can be washed if ever dirty . they have different sizes but here is an example.

Not a chance unless I want to change my interior from black to white with my German Spitz.

I share your pain...... After I bought my first 911 (a 1966) we wanted a dog and believe it or not we got a Saint Bernard. And it was our only car!!! After a couple of months we decided we needed a station wagon also!

PS Sorry for the quality of the picture, the 35 mm slides are a little old.

Wow, I can only imagine what a St. B would do to the inside of that car. Could he\she even fit in there after 6 months of age?? And the shedding!!!

I had my 2 labs in my 997 when they were younger and it was not a cab. Talk about cramped. Not even a proper window in the back for them to put their heads out. It's the hair thats the killer though. It gets in the carpet and takes a while to get out. If you cover the seats properly its pretty easy to keep them clean and free of scratches or punctures. That being said they are much more comfortable being in the truck!

I used to take my Borzoi in my 911 Targa. He sat on the seat with his front legs on the floor just like a person except his head stuck up a little higher than the windshield. Boy did that get a lot of attention from pedestrians. And talk about shed - wow just like a snowstorm.

Yep, only lasted four months before we got the wagon and even at that it was a pain for both of us. I loved that dog, but she only lasted 7 years. The latest one was a lab and it was so painful for us when she died we haven't gotten another dog.

My two are about 3 months apart so it will be extremely tough when they go. Not looking forward to it at all. It's one of the downsides to dogs, they just have such a short lifespan. However I couldn't imagine not having them.
