While waiting at the metered congested parking spaces outside the 30th street station in Philadelphia for my daughter's delayed Amtrak train from NYC my car attracted more attention and comments per minute than it has received in the past year. Even a Philadelphia police officer stopped his bicycle to comment my 9II license plate. It was not until later that evening that I realized that he did not understand that the car was a 911 as be had said that he should have a plate like that for his Mustang

Oh dear.. he clearly thought that you were paying homage with a memorial of sorts.
Oh well, no harm done and a nice gesture..

No, I believe that he was referring to the police telephone number in Pennsylvania.

If you want to attract attention, get yourself a pristine Austin Healey. We actually got applause as we drove out of a parking lot yesterday!

Having owned a guards red C2S, my current goal is to not attract attention. Too many crazies out there.

Having seen the pictures of your car, I can readily understand that.

Yes, I have pics of the car's entire restoration and plenty of the finished product. The garage is actually the dealer who sold it as a consignment for the owner. The car is now a year old and I painted the coves Old English White and it gets driven frequently so isn't as perfect as it was in these pics but is pretty close.

My B has it on 3rd and 4th. It's amazing how much quieter it is at highway speed.

My plate is: FLY911. While filling up the guy at the next pump commented on the plate. He told me he didn't "get it". He had a pick up truck, and I replied "not a car guy huh". He said no. How about if it read FLYF250? Ah, get it now...
