Interim Service notification

I changed my oil and had the annual done back in June. Last month the Interim Service notification appeared. The oil is full, so I took it to the dealer. They re-set the service and now it's on again. Has anyone had issues with this?

Chuck, I think I've seen others mention that they had this same issue and even after getting the message cleared, it came back soon after. I think that someone mentioned that Porsche was aware of the issue, but there wasn't a solution yet.

I found this interesting since there are one year old car (OP) with this issue and brand new car (robster) having the same thing. Sounds like it can happen even before any servicing is done. Ie not related to the dealer resetting the service interval.

FWIW, I have a Feb 2013 build car with more than 9,000km and nothing has come up, yet.

Is this issue separate from the service interval countdown, ie the car says it needs service but the countdown still says xxx number of miles until next service due?

This is a yellow caution notification with no countdown. I just says Interim Service Due.

That definitely sounds like a software bug. So the countdown for service intervals are working correctly, it just sporadically flashes service due when you start the car.

This thread is the same topic as a thread about 2-3 months ago. It is a software bug known to Porsche and they are supposedly working on it. I have a January /13 build and had it once back in June. No recurrence yet but car did have it's first service in early September.

Does anyone have the service bulletin associated with this?

They have yet to release a TSB for this issue, most likely will be a PCM patch.
