Opinions on 991 as a Daily Driver
I got rid of my 2013 M5 for my 2013 911 C4S. Both as a DD. My intro to the Porsche was a 6 hour drive home after picking it up. Same drive I did in my M5 to go up and get it. Actually, to my surprise Porsche seemed as or more comfortable (and definitely more fun - no surprise there) than my M5. I have over 2000 miles on my Porsche now and I can say that as a DD it has been an excellent car for me. Just enjoy the heck out of it. Only downside I can see is the Porsche is a little lower and can be a bit more awkward to get in and out of, otherwise, I see no problem with spending a lot of time in the Porsche.
Here's another thought - give careful consideration to the options you select - you can turn the 991 into more of a luxury mobile than track star if desired. And most of all choose the transmission option carefully. Because I do a lot of short hops and run into traffic on a regular basis, the MT wasn't under consideration-and frankly once I drove the PDK I was in love. If I lived in NC (or "similar" like the Alps) in a more rural setting and had the opportunity to drive curvy mountain roads on a regular basis, I would've gone MT-I'm so jealous Suzy!! YMMV but I recommend optioning out the car with a DD firmly in mind.

Mine is also a DD, even though i have other cars i would still prefer to use my 991 C2. 6 months in and already 13,00 km.
In my opinion this is porches strongest selling point, it designs its cars to be the solution to the driver who wants a practical performance sports car.
Take a look at jay lenos garage review of the 918. The fastest production car on the planet and it was designed to be a DD.
