New991S is infamous around these parts
Mine is a DD too. I have the PASM with the lowered front lip. Just need to be careful re: steep driveway, etc...

It makes the commute much more enjoyable.

Actually, to my surprise Porsche seemed as or more comfortable (and definitely more fun - no surprise there) than my M5. I have over 2000 miles on my Porsche now and I can say that as a DD it has been an excellent car for me. Just enjoy the heck out of it. Only downside I can see is the Porsche is a little lower and can be a bit more awkward to get in and out of, otherwise, I see no problem with spending a lot of time in the Porsche.
I find myself in agreement with this thought and like in so many other instances, agreeing with Suzy. On my wife's suggestion, I rented a C2S for 4 days because it's intended purpose will be to serve as my daily driver. So on a first hand basis I had an opportunity to do a million little errands (even went to Costco), in and out of the garage, highway trips of >1hr, grocery store pickups and some spirited driving - for me there isn't anything even close. This became very clear after the second day. Believe it or not Hertz rents 911s so call around - before spending six figures on any car, make sure it's what you really want. FWIW, a week after my "test drive" I ordered my 2014 C2S.

Here's another thought - give careful consideration to the options you select - you can turn the 991 into more of a luxury mobile than track star if desired. And most of all choose the transmission option carefully. Because I do a lot of short hops and run into traffic on a regular basis, the MT wasn't under consideration-and frankly once I drove the PDK I was in love. If I lived in NC (or "similar" like the Alps) in a more rural setting and had the opportunity to drive curvy mountain roads on a regular basis, I would've gone MT-I'm so jealous Suzy!! YMMV but I recommend optioning out the car with a DD firmly in mind.

Mine is also a DD, even though i have other cars i would still prefer to use my 991 C2. 6 months in and already 13,00 km.

In my opinion this is porches strongest selling point, it designs its cars to be the solution to the driver who wants a practical performance sports car.

Take a look at jay lenos garage review of the 918. The fastest production car on the planet and it was designed to be a DD.
