snows for 20" x 11.5" sport technos

looking to purchase snows for my 2014 991 c4s and just found out that the stock 305/30 20's in the rear are not available in snow's. The next closest snow tire size is a 295/30 20 but the spec on the 295's have a max wheel width of 11". I have sport techno wheels and the rears measure 11.5" wide.
someone help, just spent a load of money and planned to drive my baby all year round, northeast winter is a coming.

I decided not to use my OEM wheels in the snow and go thru the unmounting and remounting them. Bought some nice inexpensive Victor Equipment wheels with snow tires.

^ Sport Techno wheels are too nice to use for snows.
Definitely better to get some cheap aftermarket wheels for winter driving.

I'd bet a 295 on an 11-1/2 won't cause any problems other than exposing the rim edge a little further than ideal.
Tolerance can't be so tight that an 11 is fine and an 11.5 is dangerous.
It's only a 4.5% increase in rim width.

Some 295's are listed with an 11.5" limit, so it is a reasonable combination.
I can understand if it concerns you, but I would run it without a worry.
I'd worry more about just driving my 991 in snow, although I'd bet it is fun.

Yes, I guess I'll have to spring for a set of rims. The car is my wife's grocery getter and my weekend toy. Thanks everyone.

You really want a your snow tires a little narrower than your summer tires when you get into the 991 sizing. Snow tires that are too wide won't dig down into the snow as well as those a little narrower.

It's probably worth investing in a set of dedicated winter rims (either OEM or some aftermarket rims -- I have a set of OZ Ultraleggera HLTs on order) and swapping out the rims and tires seasonally. I think it'll cause less wear and tear on the Sport Technos than if you have them pulling the rubber on and off multiple times.

I decided to drive the Sport Technos year-round with the Sottozeros in 295/30 on the rears. I've included a pic so you can see it is indeed possible. They were bought from and mounted by my Pcar dealer.
