Carrera powerkit
i want to lease it and then buy it at the end (for business tax deduction on my S Corp). would it be wiser to finance instead? maybe some of you have done this before?
If you are into the feel of a flat 6 that loves to be on the cam and zinging toward the redline, I would not hesitate to order it. It does that better than a stock S, which already does that well.
That's a bit more complicated calculation. The problem with exceeding the MRM, Maximum Residualized MSRP, of $119,800 is that PFS depreciates any number above it 100%. You end up paying all of the difference plus interest. Being you intend to buy the car after the lease term is up, it may not be as bad a deal as it would be to give the car back after 24 or 36 months. Without spending an hour or so running the numbers, I would guess it largely depends on the marginal tax bracket you/your S-Corp are subject to pay income tax.

Got mine before the X51 was available and then had it retrofitted once the kit came out. Big difference - much more power at the top end, and more importantly wider power and from 3600 to 7800 instead of regular c2s 4000-6500. Need to keep in mind that the x51 engine needs to have 6000 miles on the odo before the engine makes full power (according to Porsche official x51 manual), that's why the difference at the dealer seems smaller ....
If you get pse and sport chrono anyway, would always get the x51

X-51 is a no-brainer. IMO it's the best $18k you'll ever spend on a Porsche flat-6 and get a legitimate increase of HP and torque with an OEM warranty, too.
For years the adage was "you spend $1k per 1hp added to your Porsche engine"... so I think the X-51 package is a steal, and wouldn't want a 991 without it.
YMMV.

$500 with the kit, $1799 without.
I had mine installed at suncoast Porsche in Florida. $11k for the kit (mind you I already had PSE and sport chrono, so the 11k is for the heads, cams, intake, and ecu flash) plus 40 hours of installation labor at $80 per hour or so. In comparison, my local dealer wanted $14k for the kit plus 40 hours @ $179 per hour ... So it was well worth spending $1.5 K to transport the car back and forth on a flatbed
