My rear emblem mod!

Well I did my wheels and figured, why not do the rear emblems? Chrome no more! They came out almost body color.

Gives it a 'stealth' look IMO. Diggin it!

I really like it over the silver lettering. Nice Job!

Excuse my ignorance but what is plastic dip and how did you keep the paint off the car around the letters?

Thanks,

I've never used plasti-dip, but I know a lot of guys who have for badges, etc.
Any chrome showing through in spots? I hear it can be a biatch to get perfect the first time around.

BTW, I couldn't help but notice this headline, I'm sure it was on accident or maybe not, you were careful with the tape, lol:

I was on the computer the other day, and I came across an English website that sells the Carrera/Turbo/911 emblems in carbon fiber. If anyone is interested I could try to find it and post it. They ship to the US. Just LMK.

Very nice, congrats.

I have an agate as well and did the same mod. Afterwards I took a walk around my car and noticed I had two pieces left in chrome: headlight washer caps and tail pipes. I chose to paint the headlight washer caps in body color and the tail pipes in flat black. I like the clean look of agate and dark bits vs chrome. Oh, and while I was at it I painted the reflectors body color as well.

Thanks,

It's a plastic/rubber coating. It will just peel/lift off with a little work. It will not harm the paint.

Thanks! Yes, I had one spot. Tried to touch it up--looks OK, but I will be re-doing them again in the future.

LOL! 100% accidental! I never noticed it! I was laughing about me using 'cheap' plasti-dip on an expensive car! Then I saw I had an advert for Rolexes on there! Haha.

Sure, post it up, I'd like to check them out.

The website is Supertweaks. I believe these carbon fiber pieces on this website are made by MACarbon. Their pictures are the same ones used by a forum Sponsor. Their prices on carbon fiber are a lot less in some cases than you would pay in the US. I saw a couple pieces that were $100-$150 less from Supertweaks than from US suppliers.

I would go with this especially on a GT Silver. Remove the P O R S C H E emblem above all together. I think 4 year old can recognize a P Car. Don't need an Emblem to say it.
