With all this Vette vs. 911 talk, I saw this....

Watch it get smoked. Especially, off the line by a Tesla.

Teslas are amazing!

The same would happen to our 911's off the line. The torque is instanteous... I have lined up with a few and they won through 60 no problem even when I used launch control. A sl65 got its *** handed to him too. I do have the 3.4 c2 maybe the c2s would have a better outcome...doubt It though.

Ummm...did you watch the second race? The C7 won it. Also, you have to be completely blind to not see how much the Vette was pulling the Tesla in the last 300 feet.

Yonkers is infamous around these parts
Well, it's clear the Tesla got a jump on the Vette because it started going during the yellow. Still, it's not surprising that the Tesla even did that well because a motor is going to give you that instant torque. You're going to have to get that engine around 4-5k before it peaks.

Yonkers not sure who that was directed towards. I watched both the first and second race in the video. My point was off the line from 0-90 or so they are very quick. The tesla has nearly 450 ft/lbs of torque at an instant. After 90 you can gain on them easy. The races shown are at the strip with a drag racing tree starting the race. At a stop light when caught off guard and a Tesla S stomps on the throttle it will win more often than not.

I have driven one they did a nice job with the car. Different experience than the 991.
M5 vs Tesla S- The Tesla wins two out of 3 races.

The instant torque generated by these battery powered cars has become legendary.

Clearly the power is not infinite, but nonetheless very impressive..

I saw the sting rays in Detroit. I thought they looked like a 60 thousand car. I wasn't impressed with looks or finish. I know you can't deny the awesome performace. The Z06 was another story they looked awesome. But the star of the show was the Macan. Will be ordering one very soon.

I'd have a Vette over a Tesla any day ! I hate sterile electric appliances. At least the Vette has some ***** !

What the Macan is concerned. It's a looker. I'd love to add one to the stable as a daily driver !

I wonder if the OP thinks his 991 would have done any better? I guess this probably means he no longer wants his 991.

I guess it depends if you want a heavy, electric sedan or a sports car. Sort of apples and oranges here.
